5 BarBQ is a family-owned Texas BBQ restaurant just north of Bowie, Texas (US81 at Crabtree Street), serving slow smoked Texas brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and classic sides. We provide BBQ catering for 25–250+ guests across North Texas and offer private venue rental at our Bowie location. We cater barbecue for staff lunches, school banquets, church events, weddings, and large gatherings throughout Bowie, Nocona, Henrietta, Wichita Falls, Decatur, Gainesville, and surrounding communities within 50 miles. Larger events may be accommodated beyond that area, including DFW.

Ribs are good. They’re cooked well and seasoned well enough. Not overpowered and just right for sauce or vinegar.
Brisket. Brisket is a contentious subject. You need to know how to order. They have a lean and fatty brisket. You will need to be specific if you order before you have an opinion. Both are good and cooked really well.
Sausages are fatty and delicious. Can’t go wrong with either the jalapeño cheddar or the German sausage. If you have uncertainty, pick the jalapeño cheddar. The German one has spices you might not be familiar or used to. However if you’re brave enough, I’d encourage you try the German sausage.
Also. Don’t forget they have a selection of real sugar sodas here. All the Dublin varieties and SODA SHOP PEPSI.

Great bbq restaurant. We stopped by on our way from Oklahoma. Brisket was our favorite. Corn bread were tender and not too sweet. The different pickles and candies jalapeños were a very nice compliment. Don’t forget the dessert. Excellent hospitality and clean bathrooms.

I don’t make it to this part of Texas often, but after eating here… I’ll be finding excuses to come back. The meats and sides were among the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The owners are wonderful people who treat you like old friends, and the atmosphere is pure, old-school BBQ joint charm. It’s obvious they care deeply about their food and their customers. This place is worth the trip, every time.

Nice quaint country setting kinda off the beaten path. Had the brisket and spicy pinto beans with homemade country cornbread. Beans are top notch and goes well with mini cornbread. Brisket had a nice smoke ring and was not dry. Had just the correct amount of fat and moisture. For drinks, look to Mexican Coca-Cola or Dublin sodas all made with real sugar. If you travel near Bowie, take the short drive to stop in and grab a nice meal.

This was the best BBQ experience anyone can have! The authenticity of the environment and the owners is unmatched. The food is out of this world, seriously it was so good. We couldn’t pick a favorite out of the 4 meats we tried because they were all so good! The sides were also phenomenal and you could tell they were an original recipe, which we loved! 12/10 for this place! Thank you again!

Great BBQ! Hungry Texan gives you a lot of choices and all was delicious. Customized to your taste in how lean you want the amazing brisket. Great couple runs this. It’s so good I rode my motorcycle 160 miles here for lunch! This may be the best bbq on the planet!
