Amazing Greek restaurant that was a 7 minute walk from the Intrepid Museum. We were waited immediately and were taken care of by a sweet waitress that recommended the Greek Gyro Platter. The environment was homey and inviting. We got the Mango smoothie with orange juice, lamb gyro combo, chicken gyro combo and a baklava for desert. Everything was amazing, flavorful and the baklava was large enough to share between two people. It tasted like a warm cinnamon bun with chopped nuts. Highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the Intrepid Museum or the surrounding area.

Had the pleasure of trying the gyro platter and it did not disappoint. The food came out fast, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor in every bite. The staff were very kind—will absolutely be coming back. I very much appreciate the 90s diner look its a sense of home and warmth

Has a good family vibe, the owners are present and very friendly. Unfortunately didn’t try their Greek food out but the pizza was and very filling. Price – affordable.

Enjoyed my refill coffee and no one rushed us to leave after we wanted to rest longer, overall enjoyable!

Had a Greek Gyro Platter that totally hit the spot—juicy, flavorful, and way better than I expected for a quick stop. And that hot coffee? Absolute lifesaver in this cold weather. It warmed me up from the inside out and made the whole meal feel extra cozy. Definitely coming back for that combo.

Amazing experience at 42nd Street Pizza!
The pizza here is absolutely delicious — the pepperoni pizza was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and full of that authentic New York taste.
Maria, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can really feel how much love she puts into everything.
Highly recommend this place — it’s definitely one of the best pizza spots in town!

An outstanding experience in every way!
From the moment we walked in, María (the owner) made us feel incredibly welcome — she’s warm, friendly, and speaks Spanish, which made everything even easier and more comfortable for us.

We tried three different types of pizza, and each one was absolutely delicious — perfect crust and wonderfully balanced flavors. We also had the chicken gyro, a Greek specialty that truly impressed me: juicy, flavorful, and authentic. Simply delightful!

The portions are generous, everything is freshly made, and you can taste the care in every bite. But above all, what really stood out was the kindness and hospitality of the staff — absolutely top-notch.

Excellent value for money. Without a doubt, we’ll be back — and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even better service.

Highly recommended!

I have waited too long to write this review because it’s a challenge to write a review for a place that left me with such an profound impression. How do you put that feeling into words? I cannot do it justice, but I’ll try my best. If you don’t want to read the whole review, just read this: Eat at 42nd Street Pizza and Restaurant! The authentic Greek and Italian food is amazing. The historic feel of the diner and the love that this family puts into their food is palpable. That’s the short of it.

My visits to NYC from Montana always include at least a couple pizza places. The first on my list from years ago was Lombardi’s (a great place in its own right). I regret that it took me 10+ years before I found 42nd Street Pizza – an amazing little gem. The warmth of the owners who welcomed me and my wife and personally served us, the great taste of the food, and the way that the diner just oozed history left us with an impression that we will never forget.

Take your time while you’re there and read the historic magazine and newspaper articles on the wall. See the certificates, photos, and mementos. If you’re fortunate enough, take a moment or two to visit with the owners. Look at the walls, see the outside of the historic building’s façade, and just imagine what this place has been through and survived. Enjoy the taste of the food and the simple, authentic atmosphere. Places like this need support, because if (or when) they leave us, something that makes us who we are will be gone. We cannot allow that to happen. Eat there!! I give them ten stars!! Enjoy!

Margarita pizza was really good. Crust was perfect. Also had the chicken gyro (per all the reviews)… it was good, but wish I had stuck to my usual and ordered lamb.

Would def go back if I’m in the area.

The lady waiting on me was really kind. Though was a little pricey (but what do you expect in NY)
