*Boooo*
On the menu the steak and cheese is supposed to have provolone cheese and “wiz cheese”. There was no “wiz cheese” on the steak and cheese but there was some sort of cheese on the sandwich. I presume it was provolone but it was hard to tell. I had the fries with the sandwich as well but they were soggy and did not taste good at all. My wife’s creamy tomato soup was so spicy we actually thought of sending it back. The only reason we didn’t was because the server was not even attentive to us as there was only us and one other couple at lunch time. It is a bit pricey as well and they charge 5% more for using a debit card *slaps head* lol your prices are high and you still put surcharges back on the consumer???
*I would be willing to give this place another chance. IF… big if… Surcharges for debit card disappear… Prices come down.. and quality comes up*
Full version: First time in 401 Grilled – a fairly new eatery here on the hill just outside the West Gate of Hot Springs Village. Never tried Wagyu before, so asked which would be a better start, the Wagyu burger or the steak and cheese sandwich. The smiling response was steak and cheese, so that’s what I got. Man, I don’t know how much of it was the Wagyu beef and how much the cook’s skill, but that was one heck of a sandwich.
Even with inflation-adjusted prices, you can still come out a little cheaper at McDonald’s or Sonic, but when it comes to quality of food (getting what you pay for), there’s no comparison.
Food is so-so, and extremely over priced for the portions.
Never again!
Look elsewhere for a restaurant that actually knows how to run a business. SMH
