He got the bacon/chicken waffles, and I got a side of fried chicken over the peach waffles. Phenomenal all around (and all gluten and dairy free / celiac approved)! As a bonus, apperantly Wednesdays are Free Waffle Wednesdays? We got an extra little bonus powdered sugar nibble for free as a result!
We’re from Eugene and will gladly drive an hour to eat here again. Owners were very kind and a delight to talk to!
The dining area is pretty small—intimate, you could say—which makes it great for a quick bite or a low-key hangout. There’s also a gated-off space nearby that seems to be a closed party room, adding a quirky layer of mystery to the venue. You can tell the place has potential for a fun, social atmosphere, even if it’s not fully in use at the moment.
Now, let’s talk food. The chicken and waffles? Solid. The chicken was crispy, the waffles fluffy, and everything came out hot and fresh. While the flavors hit the right notes, we couldn’t help but feel the price was a bit steep for the overall quality. Not bad by any means—but a few dollars less would make the experience feel more balanced. That said, the staff really made the visit enjoyable. They were friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience.
Overall, 4 Chicken and Waffles is a unique, tucked-away spot that offers a warm meal and welcoming service. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and want to support a local gem with personality.
“a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand.”
This hole in the wall restaurant is an artisan restaurant, with workers and owners who are exceptional in their craft.
The battered chicken is light, crispy, and filling.
The waffles are fluffy and dense.
Basement stairs rarely lead you to somewhere as good as this.
I only wish there was a better option for eating there. The dance club lobby is a little sketchy.
The Spicy Chicken and Waffles with a side of bacon was great!
Suprisingly the whole menu is gluten free! I would have never guessed from the taste and texture. This is a place that met specific family members dietary needs that we all really enjoyed. Not an easy find without risking cross contamination or having limited menu selections.
This may be a new go to for quick gluten FREE dining.
The waffle was also perfectly cooked though a bit soft after spending 20 minutes in my car traveling– but that’s not its fault. Despite this delay, the chicken and waffle were delicious together and the whole thing was well-packaged for travel.
The syrup was high quality and tasted like actual tree syrup.
Now, the food – I’ve had my fair share of chicken & waffles and this is right up there with some of the best I’ve had. Gluten-free doesn’t mean anything to me, but for those for whom it’s important it’s a big deal and I’m always impressed when I can’t tell it’s gluten-free. The bacon version was fantastic and I sampled some of my wife’s cinnamon ans sugar waffle which was equally tasty. Big fan of this stuff!
