It takes a few minutes to cook, but the quality is also better; I almost couldn’t get my mouth around the burger.
The Philly cheesesteak was made with real steak trimmings and was overflowing on the platter.
Signage currently says “Brother’s Cafe” from the former establishment that used to be here.
As for the food; the first time we went here we got a Philly cheese steak and chicken and waffles. They both came out fantastic with the Belgian waffles thick and fluffy. We were surprised to see that they actually use chipped steak for the Philly cheese steak rather than frying roast beef lunch meat like a lot of other places do.
On the second trip we got the cheese steak again because it was so good last time, and I also got the turkey club. A small game of mine when trying new diners is trying to find the best club that I can, and 38 special easily has one of the best I’ve had (maybe only second to the cafeteria in Linn Benton Community College). The club was thick with turkey, bacon, lettuce, avocado, cheese, tomato, and a proper 3 slices of pan toasted bread.
Great place and if you find yourself through Drain you should stop by.
The shrimp was seasoned excellently, as was the .38 Omelette.
Only thing I can point out constructively is it’s a little quiet, some low volume country would make the experience even better.
