Opened in January 2023, 34 Chophouse is a Denison steakhouse offering upscale cuts of meat in a sophisticated setting. Doc’s Lounge, located alongside, provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy drinks and live music. On Friday & Saturday our kitchen closes at 10pm bar will stay open till 11PM.

Had an overall good experience at 34 Chophouse for a recent dinner with colleagues. On the positive side, my NY Strip was cooked to a perfect medium, and the pot roast I sampled was also quite good. The highlights for me were the Brussels sprouts, the great presentation of the loaded twice-baked potato, and the brown sugar butter served with the bread, which was truly delightful.
However, there were several inconsistencies that made the price point hard to justify. While the Caesar salad used a unique bibb lettuce, the dressing and toppings didn’t make it stand out. The sides felt like they carried big-city prices but arrived in smaller portions than expected.
Service was friendly but slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We had an issue where our calamari never arrived, leading to some confusion about whether it should be taken off the bill or made to-go; once we finally had it, the dish was unfortunately a disappointment. Additionally, while my steak was spot on, a colleague’s ribeye was definitely over-cooked.

Delicious food! We started with the wagyu meatballs which were scrumptious! We had their two surf and turf specials. We had Filet and Lobster which was a huge proportion with 2 lobster tails. We had the Filet Oscar which had crab on top. The sauce for both steaks were spectacular in flavor and portion. We also tried the candied Brussels and ate them all, the flavor was mouthwatering! I highly recommend at least trying it so you get a flavor treat!

We have been happily coming here for years. We’ve always preferred Docs Lounge over the actual restaurant because of the vibe and beautiful bar and being able to eat off the same menu. We have noticed the service has declined over the last year & noticeably tonight. The food has always been so tasty that we could overlook inexperienced service. However tonight everything was over-salted and although we paid for a bottle of wine, we ended up having to refill our glasses. Not a big deal. We aren’t above pouring our own wine but after all is said & done & you pay your bill and it’s over $90 per person, that’s when you have to ask, was the meal & service worth $90 person? Probably not. We really don’t ask for much. Just offer to refill our wine glasses & don’t over-salt the food.

My wife and I had a date night here and it was absolutely wonderful. Our server Michael was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and attentive and you can tell he takes pride in his service! I prefer my steaks on the rarer side, this is the first restaurant to nail it spot on! Highly recommend the cowboy steak!

Food and service were fantastic. They have you crammed in there though. Would have really liked to have a few tables removed as the servers (who were great) were rushing past us over and over. This wouldn’t be an issue if we had a corner table but I spent more time trying to dodge servers and keep tucked in so I didn’t accidentally trip someone than enjoying my foods. Otherwise everything great.

What a wonderful celebration we had! Morgan our server offered fantastic service, including taking some wonderful photos of us. Rylie the manager warmly introduced herself, ensuring our experience was great. The food was truly fantastic. I highly recommend.

Early valentine dinner. Zac was our server. He was very professional and friendly. Husband had 8 ounce fillet cooked just the way he likes it. Said it was very good. I had chicken it was very good. It was a very enjoyable date night.

The food was very good. Enjoyed the steak. Mine was perfect but my dining companion asked for medium rare and got medium but still was a fantastic meal. If were back in the area will definitely come back.

This had to be one of the best experiences we have had at a steakhouse. We had reservations, its like they had been waiting for us all day. We were immediately seated. We had ample space, and there were 8 of us. The server was amazing and made us feel like we were his only table. The drinks were all amazing, and they made me a non alcoholic drink due to me not being a drinker. The appetizers came out quickly, and they were all amazing. We ordered the lamb, ahi tuna stack, and the fried calamari and oysters as the appetizers. They were all amazing and satisfying. I ordered the 36oz dry aged Tomahawk. It was by far the best steak I have ever had. I also ordered the loaded twice baked potato and the candied brussel sprouts. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, and she said that it was amazing. It was her birthday dinner, so we got the pleasure of trying the carrot cake. It was also one of the best pieces we have had. Our friends got the other dishes and they all said that they were all delicious.
If you’re around Denison, you have to try this place out. We will definitely be going back.
