Had a great experience here. I was bringing some foreigners to see an authentic Northwoods Wisconsin bar. We ate fried pickles, cheese curds, and mushrooms. Awesome. Beer was cold.
The first bartender was a bit gruff with us, but she was just about to go off shift and was probably just burned out. The new one was awesome.
With so few options on the 3 lakes chain, this was great for us.
Price was reasonable too.

Walking in was great, live music was playing. That was literally the ONLY good thing about the place. There were 2 bartenders, I ordered nachos and cheese curds, one “can” of wine and a soda.. it was $30. The food took over 30 minutes to come out. The bartender said their computer went down and I had to pay again because nothing was paid and the food was awful. I have gotten better nachos at the public pool. So very disappointed

We visited this cute retro bar once and although we liked the physical atmosphere, food, and friendly service, we did not like their blaring grunge heavy heavy metal rock music. It was a total turn off and I’m sure I’m not alone. Food was wayyy too overpriced for the quality of it. I would not recommend at all. My boyfriend got food poisoning from the chicken strips and was throwing up all night. Service was terrible, there’s no where to sit, and if you’re looking forward to playing pool… go elsewhere. everything is so cramped you can’t even shoot the ball without bumping into something or a wall being in your way. Wish it was still Jake’s and they never sold. Three Lakes restaurants just keep getting bought out by people who don’t know how to run a business… or make food!

Glad to visit this good bar and grill under new ownership since late 2021. They’re making it their own with some unique menu items while keeping classics such as Friday fish and a selection of burgers. We had kicked up curly fries and a Thai Chicken pizza on a thin and flaky crust. Different and worth trying. Easy parking right off 32, on the trails and a friendly owner/ bartender intent on using his long experience to make it work. Recommended.

We have been going to Jakes for close to 25 years and always had good food at a reasonable price. Unfortunately since the new owners have taken over it has went significantly downhill. The place use to have really good burgers and pizza for a reasonable price. Now its a 3 ounce dried out burger and saltine cracker thin crust pizza for a hefty price. They need to seriously improve the food quality.
