I dont know if we caught them on a down day, or if people just had better luck with the food. This place, for the price, is less than impressive. The turkey, thinly sliced, had a severely processed taste and texture. The catfish was greasy and mushy. The broccoli casserole was awful also with a mushy texture and poor flavor. The baked beans were decent but not great, but was the best item on the plate. My wife got a loaded baked potato and rather enjoyed it.
The person that waited on us at the counter (older woman) was attentive and talked with us, the other 2 younger women behind the counter looked and acted as if they couldnt be bothered.
The place seemed clean and had a nice atmosphere. Unsure if we will return. I wont rule it out as there are other dishes which may redeem this establishment.

Went there to grab lunch. Staff was wonderful. The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered 2 plates and one was wrong. No flavor, tasted like cafeteria food. The chicken was the only good thing to eat. Will probably not be back.

Front counter was nice and helpful. The food came out promptly little to no wait time. I ordered the half chicken plate with baked beans and Mac and cheese. Unfortunately the chicken was very very dry, and had no flavor. I pretty much drowned it in white sauce which was pretty good. The baked beans were mediocre the best thing was the Mac and cheese which had a big piece of plastic from I assume a wrapper in it. My husband got a ham sandwich with the same sides. He also said the ham was flavorless. Atmosphere was nice, but I don’t think we will be making a trip back.

Stopped for dinner on our way to Florida. My chef-husband said the ribs were amazing. I completely agree! Cooked to perfection, they didn’t fall off the bone until we wanted them to. Absolutely fantastic. Dry rub was delicious. Both sauces are gluten-free.
I got the brown sugar green beans. They were really good. I didn’t know such a thing existed. The vinegar-based cole slaw was really good too.
Staff was very helpful with my gluten-free order. Brought me a new plate when the kitchen added a roll to my dinner, making it no longer GF. I did not have a reaction 🙂

The young lady at the counter made my day!
She’s very nice and sweet. I even watched her handle a rude woman ahead of me inquiring about the ham being VEGAN! Shoulda checked google first it’s posted there.
The young woman kept her composure and tried to answer ALL her questions.
(There were a lot of them) The woman even insulted her by asking if something was wrong with her nose or did she just sound like that.
The poor girl was obviously getting over a cold of some sort. Smh She just kept working.
I will say they looked short handed but they did the best they could. Thank you for trying to give the best services you could counter Ladies!

Great first time experience. Tried the pulled pork sandwich (which came with slaw & pickles on top) w/ baked beans & potato salad. The sides tasted good and fresh. The Alabama white sauce they have is very good, I found it to actually be better then the red BBQ (which I don’t usually put Alabama white over red BBQ but their Alabama white was very delicious) The banana pudding was also very good. Only complaint I guess I could find is I wish the sandwich was just a tad larger & I wish they would’ve added more of that slaw on top. Next time I come I will be trying that Loaded baked potato &/or those smoked wings.

I don’t know if they changed cooks or what’s going on. Today my husband ordered 2 plates of ribs to go. The ribs were burn, cover with to much spices, and the flavor was different. We are very disappointed. I don’t know if we will go again. This used to be one of our favorite place to eat.

Sad place nowadays, staff is indifferent, no more crowds, some of the food quality has gone way downhill. Staff is fussy with each other. Not sure if this place is under new management or ownership, but it’s no longer the place that we once adored. Stuffed potatoes, pulled pork, and ribs are amazing, the best in the area – that’s why I’ll never stop visiting, even if they are rude to me, lol! Catfish nuggets are garbage, they even deleted a picture of them I had uploaded onto their Facebook Page – so they know they’re bad. Anyways, I’ll check in on y’all from time to time, please don’t be rude to me like you usually are, I’m really trying to support y’all the best I can, but you sure don’t make it easy. Just remember, there are too many places in Athens nowadays that have excellent food, cost twice as much, and are busier. Customer service goes a long way, we want to go where people are happy to take our money.

We make it a point to stop at 306 BBQ on our way home to Indiana from our vacation in Florida. All around amazing food! Make sure and get some banana pudding.. it’s so good!!
