This is a hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop burger place. The food is great and they don’t skimp on toppings. They have a nice variety of burgers, hot dogs, wraps, nachos, and salads. They don’t cater to special dietary needs, but everything is made to order. I had an easy time eating here as a diabetic with a wheat allergy. I ordered my burger with no bun. I cut it all up and mixed it like a salad, and it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place.

Great burgers! We were in town and hungry, but didn’t want a fast food chain. So glad we gave this place a try! We ordered the mushroom n Swiss (double) and smokehouse (double) and Philly melt (for our toddler) with the intention of splitting them. I accidentally ate the whole thing. It was too good to share. Also ordered a peach milkshake to-go. Only thing we can suggest is a thicker straw.
The food was made to order and fast. Most people ordered to-go and were in and out in a few minutes.

Spending a few days in town and looking for a mom and pop place to eat. We found 3 Nelson burgers and it looked interesting. They have many named items with a sandwich board that described what they are. Debbie ordered a burger with no bun and lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, Buffalo sauce and pickles. I had the bulldog burger and we shared a chili slaw French fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. A very good value for your money. The place has been around for a while and could use a interior upgrade but we just came in for some good burgers and that was what we got. They had fans running apparently the ac is out. Not sure if it is this way all the time it was a little hit by the time we finished. Definitely would go back.

Stopped by on our ride through Valdosta. The food was good. The customer service was really bad. The AC was out in the middle of Summer which made it super hot. The outside of the building also need some cleaning up. With better service and atmosphere, I can give this restaurant a higher rating.

I was driving through and got hungry for lunch so I stopped at the first place I went by. I saw the menu and that its double cheeseburger was only $9 so I assumed it would be thin patties. Boy was I wrong. This burger was HUGE and one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. The type of burger you write home about. The type of burger you tell your mom about. A burger that has a 800 credit score. This burger was the burger of all the burgers. I am so impressed with how good this burger was and will dream about it for the rest of my life

These Nelson folks know how to do it. No frills, easy access eatery, drive thru and quick take out. Service is pretty casual, as in they aren’t greeting you or asking your name for pick up. More like hurry up.and wait style service, but it is fast, and it is delicious. When I’m on a lunch break and not a formal diner situation I dont really mind. However if this style setvice bothers you just avoid it and go fight with the McDonald’s employees. Grilled shredded chicken that they put on the wraps is absolutely great! Juicy, seasoned, and for the win NOT fried! Great healthy alternative to everything else with a drive thru. Nelson family can take my money any day! Good job!

Solid burger and STEAK FRIES!!! Local group of people kept a steady line which means to me it is valued as a locals choice. Keep up the good work.

Only in Quitman for the afternoon and my partner has a very keen sense for smaller places with great food. I had the back salad and it’s amazing! My partner had the bacon cheeseburger but by the time I got my camera ready his was basically gone!

Time between ordering and receiving the food was much longer than anticipated. About 20 minutes. I ordered the mushroom Swiss added bacon. But I will say, it was worth the wait.
