The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The chips and salsa – which is my measure of a good Mexican restaurant – are Fab! They have a brunch menu and a good drink menu.

My family and I have been coming here for a few yrs and enjoy it everytime. Good food, drinks and service. We usually go for early dinner and the atmosphere is chill, good music and not too loud.

This place is a ton of fun to be at. They have song bingo on Thursday nights, karaoke sometimes, and on cinco de mayo they had a DJ! The drinks and food are great value – big portions for what you pay. Their salsa was real fresh and the birria enchiladas were awesome.

I’ve been driving past this place for 3 years. Keep saying that I want to go in, and I went in today, and I was extremely happy. The atmosphere was great for Saturday night, wonderful mixed music. The waitress was amazingly friendly and best of all the food was amazing the price perfect I could have asked for a better dinner. Anybody to go to this place if they want to try some Mexican food…

Our waiter was very patient while our party of tween girls made their decisions. Food was excellent! The ingredients seemed very fresh and dishes made to order. Realizing that the gathering was a birthday meal, the staff asked if they could sing happy birthday to her, which was very sweet! It was great experience and location.

A few weeks back, my fiancé and I, in the spirit of culinary adventure, decided to try out 3 Amigos Bar & Grill, a new Mexican joint tucked away in a cozy neighborhood. Its exterior was as inviting as a Hallmark holiday movie, promising a mix of authentic and modern Mexican vibes.

First impressions were on point: the service was snappier than a stand-up comedian, and the cutlery was charming in a “these-forks-have-personality” kind of way. I mean, who doesn’t like cutlery with a bit of zest? The plating? Absolutely Instagrammable.

We went full throttle on the menu, ordering Guacamole, Shrimp Ceviche, a Carne Asada plate, Chorizo Enchilada, and a Flan for dessert. A real ‘United Nations of Mexican Cuisine’ situation. I’ve been around the California-Mexican block, so I was all set to put my taste buds to the test.

The Salsa and Chips were like the opening act of a concert, decent, getting the crowd (aka our stomachs) warmed up. But boy, the headliners did not live up to the hype. It was like expecting a Beyoncé concert and getting a performance by a Beyoncé tribute act instead.

While nothing was bad per se, the Guac and Ceviche lacked the punch of a Mexican wrestling champ, and the Carne Asada felt like it was on a flavor diet. My fiancé’s Chorizo Enchilada, which decided to go all chunky instead of the classic ground style, was also missing a spicy kick.

Even the Flan seemed to be having an identity crisis. Not bad, but also like it was unsure about its place in the world of Mexican desserts.

All in all, I would call 3 Amigos the ‘diet soda’ of Mexican eateries. Not as bold as the full-fat version, but hey, it could be a good gateway for those easing into the world of Mexican cuisine. If your palette is more ‘salt-and-pepper sitcom’ than ‘jalapeno action-thriller,’ this might just be your spot.

Will I go back? I’m a firm believer in second chances. Maybe it was an off day, maybe they were trying a new recipe, who knows? I’m willing to brave it one more time. Here’s hoping my taste buds get the Mexican fiesta they’ve been craving.
