The positives are that it’s got a vibe and character, and an extensive menu of hot and cold sandwiches.
Unfortunately, the sandwiches – or at least judging by the Italian – really aren’t great. Disproportionate amount of bread, not a good sub roll, and really minimal amount of meat and cheese.
If they got better rolls, crustier and airy, that’d be a tremendous step in the right direction; it’s by far the weakest point. How much meat and cheese there is compared to veg and bread I guess comes down to price point, but it’s really thin.

One the the best Soup & Sandwich stops I’ve ever made! This place was outstanding. If you’re ever passing through Durango, CO make sure you make the time to grab a bite to eat here.

This is a bar- that serves food. Not recommended for dinner. It was so loud we had to get food to go- banh mi- pork belly was burnt/ not tasty at all- had so much sauce on it- I guess to cover the taste of the rest of the sandwich/ Philly was good enough. And daughter was happy with the burger. Sandwiches were served with chips. Glad I tried it- as out of towners- can mark it off my list of things I’ve tried. Wouldn’t come back for the food. I’m sure if you were looking for a place to get drinks with buddies it would be just fine. Service was as well as to be expected in a bar with loud atmosphere.

This is the best place to get good food. The burger was delicious, perfect flavor on the meat. The fried bologna was a hit as well. Looking forward to the banh mi for later!

First timer from out of town. Tried this place, looking forward to the pasta salad, due to it’s raved reviews…. It was not good at all!! Smelled & tasted sour, like it was spoiled, and it was dry. The sandwich was good, but one side of the sandwich was under toasted, while the side facing up was toasted perfectly. This made the side facing down soggy. The fillings were plenty and the flavor of the sandwich was good, but it would have been much better had it been toasted evenly. I had the Southwest sandwich with turkey, bacon, & green chili. The chili was the most flavorful of it all. Service wasn’t very friendly, but I excused it because they were busy, although I myself would not have let that interfere with my service. All in all definitely mid and pricey to pay for some food you won’t eat.

Was driving through Durango and decided to try this place for lunch. Ordered the southwest and Italian sandwiches, they were okay. One side of the bread was burnt on the southwest sandwich. Overall, we had better service and sandwiches at Tom’s Deli. Read the awesome reviews on the pasta salad, which is why we decided to eat lunch here, but as another reviewer mentioned I don’t think it’s worth the hype . It has a strong olive flavor but kind of bland on other seasonings. Will most likely just go to Tom’s for sandwiches next time we’re in Durango.

I’m a local therapist that works next door who wishes the food wasn’t as good as it is! I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve eaten there and will continue to go back. I’d recommend the Bahn Mi, Ruben, and Gyro. Photo in my review is thr Gyro, I believe they make their bread – it’s fluffy/warm/soft – excellent flavors.
Excellent local atmosphere, no frills, quick service, fantastic food.

Good sub but could have been more flavorful & was small, pasta salad was really good! Good side options. Atmosphere is fun. Would definitely come back but not 5 star worthy imo, solid 4 star.

2nd Deli & Spirits is exactly what it promises to be—good sandwiches, cold drinks, and a no-frills vibe that somehow makes you feel right at home. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which balanced out the chaotic charm of the place.
The whole place gives off strong “day drinker with a soccer tattoo who will fight you if you disrespect his team” energy—but in the best, most entertaining way possible. It’s the kind of joint where you grab a Reuben, a whiskey, and instantly stop caring about your to-do list. Definitely worth the visit if you’re into sandwiches and scenes with personality.
