Clean and accessible location. Texas vibes without trying too hard. Friendly, gracious service. Warmth permeating the atmosphere on a cold January day. Food is some of the best BBQ I have ever had. I lived in Texas almost a decade. I always go to the “best” BBQ places when I go back to visit. Now… I don’t need to hop in a plane to enjoy the real deal heavenly dishes.

We made the trip into town for takeout from 2fifty, based on stellar reviews and the fact they provided free meals to federal employees during the recent government shutdown. Food was absolutely amazing! Loved the chopped brisket sandwich with spicy bbq sauce. So good we bought an extra bottle and a block of smoked feta, too. My husband raved about his sliced wagyu brisket with sides of both mac and cheese and potato salad. Just delish! Staff were fantastic and place was immaculate. It’s walking distance from my office, so we will be back for lunch!

As I have said many times, food preferences are subjective and therefore this review is based solely on my taste buds. I could wait to try their food based on their reviews. We had trays of food, pineapple, Mac n cheese, a variety of meats, corn bread, cucumbers and tomatoes salad, beans, etc. there was very little we didn’t order and it came to $690! They forgot the brisket however. The barbecue was not what I consider barbecued but I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t traditional south US barbecue so that is my fault.
What I did not like: the pork ribs were tough and lacking flavor. The corn bread was sub par. Rhe sausage was heavily breaded and soft and the shredded lamb lacked a distinctive flavor. The chicken quarters were not enjoyable and lacked flavor. The Mac n cheese was the worst I’ve ever had, greasy and bland.
What was excellent: The beef rib was amazing!! We liked the beet salad. The cucumber and tomato salad was AMAZING and the best thing we ordered.

A local bar tender told me this was the best texas bbq in the area. Told them I was a texan born and raised and they gave me fantastic service and hooked it up! They were very attentive and happy to help and answer questions. The wagyu brisket was spot on. Passed fold test, great smoke ring, and excellent bark. Had everything your looking for and tasted like candy. Highly recommend y’all check it out.

We’ve been to their Maryland location which was out of this world and happened to be in DC and wanted to try as well. Smaller than their other location, and they have TVs that show where the smokers are which i thought was pretty cool. Here the beef ribs are by the pound, not like Maryland location where it’s a set price but my oh my those beef ribs are SOOO freaking good. Fell right off the bone!! The brisket beans had so much flavor and were cooked to perfection as was the mac and cheese! My fiance hates mac and cheese and even she said that was really good! The only thing that tasted a little bit different was the brisket tamales, they may have changed the recipe don’t really taste the Salvadoran in them anymore

For BBQ aficionados, this is Texas style (aka the king of bbq) and it is probably the best bbq in the DMV. I highly recommend the wagyu brisket and dino rib. For sides the cornbread is legit as well as the mac and cheese. The beans were just okay. Just know the meal can be pricey but trust me its worth it.

I have tried both their Wagyu and normal Brisket and have to say I prefer the normal one. I don’t think the Wagyu tasted so amazing that it justifies the extra price. That being said they do make amazing Bbq and cornbread.
Though I think the service can be better as I was served cold BBQ once and no one wants a cold bbq. Everyone knows a bbq has to be somewhat warm.

Absolutely phenomenal food, ok service, and a spacious venue made this overall a great experience. I’ve had the pleasure of sampling 2fifty when they were a stall at Union Market, and they haven’t skipped a beat in their new brick and mortar location.
I had the brisket and ribs, as well a spicy cheddar sausage and some corn salad (with taki powder!) and everything was epic. I would say my favorites were the brisket and the cheddar sausage but it’s really close. Their sauces are amazing but honestly the meat is seasoned so well and made to perfection that it doesn’t need a drop. I also sampled the mac & cheese and brisket tamales my friend ordered and they were both tremendous too.
Service was fine, just a couple of folks that were a bit terse and not friendly, but not everyone.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Portions are large — I’d suggest ordering just one side per person. The pork ribs were good, with a flavorful rub and tender meat; however, my portion had a bit too much cartilage. Also, the beef sausage could be more juicy.

It’s BBQ, but it isn’t Hill Country BBQ.
It all looks very good and the portions are generous, but it didn’t hit the spot.
The brisket is smoked, but the flavor is simplistic, not deep and rich. Smoking longer or with different wood varieties may help.
The mac and cheese is soupy, flavorless, bland. Adding different varieties of cheese may help.
While I didn’t hate it (⭐), it’s unlikely I’ll return (⭐⭐).
