There is nothing like a breakfast at 29 South Cafe to start your day right! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming—it felt like a big reunion seeing my family there and hearing the owner greet my family by their first names. Actually the owner introduced me to my family I didn’t even know. Weird? The owner is absolutely amazing, and that personal touch makes this place feel like home.

We were looking for a fun home town diner to stop and have breakfast on our way to the Dells. We chose this little place and we were pleasantly surprised. It had a nice cozy atmosphere, wonderful staff who was kind, personable and very intent on making this a special visit. The food was great and they had lots of pastries to chose from as well. Everything is homemade and it tastes like it too!! I am so glad we stopped here.
I recommend taking time out of your busy day and stopping by 29 south cafe for a great experience.

Definitely a must try! So delicious! I’ve had the lunch, breakfast, baked goods, coffee and everything was delicious. The homemade cream of asparagus soup is definitely a favorite of mine now. I left with s bag full of baked goods to bring to work. I recommend giving this place a try, you will not be disappointed. The owner was friendly and very assertive!

My regular coffee shop was closed so I stopped here. It was very cute and the food was very good. I love that fresh fruit came with my meal. The service was outstanding! I wish I knew her name, but she was awesome. She was so welcoming and just let me sit and read my book for a while after I was done eating. I would definitely recommend it.

Stopped in for breakfast as first choice was packed. So happy we did. Obviously a place that has a loyal clientele. Most everyone was greeted by name. It was a little busy, but we weren’t in any hurry. Had the Raisin Walnut French Toast which was simply the best French Toast I have ever had. Given a choice of 2 or 3 slices, I opted for 2. BIG MISTAKE! I would have relished every bite of that 3rd piece. Nice thick slices of bread made in house. Took a blueberry scone to go.

Excellent breakfast. Small menu, but very tasty. I had the meat (Sausage) omelet with potato wedges and a really good garlic dip. Bring your own coffee flavoring. Price is a little high, but…volume is low, they gotta stay in business. I’ll be back with my wife someday. I’m from SE Central IL…and work at Caledonia Haulers…our tank wash is out behind Menards on the far north side. (Bell St. Dead end).

I recently stumbled upon this delightful little mom-and-pop diner, and it quickly became a favorite! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The homemade crafts available for sale in the back add such a special touch—each piece is unique and clearly crafted with care, perfect for finding a memorable keepsake.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish felt homemade, and you could tell a lot of love went into the cooking. Although it was a bit on the pricey side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance made it well worth it. If you’re looking for a spot that feels like home with a little something extra, this diner is a must-visit!

We got takeout food and drinks and it was unfortunately quite overpriced for quite average food. Quiche was nice but a very small portion for almost $10. Cappuccinos on this day weren’t great. Husband and kids got the chicken sandwiches, which had a generous about of thick chicken breast in.
