Checked out 26 Viet Cafe, the new spot in East Pasadena, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The facility is really modern and clean, which is always a plus.

We ordered the House Special Pho and the Grilled Pork Vermicelli. Both came in very generous portions, you definitely won’t leave hungry! The broth was tasty and flavorful, and the pork was excellent. They also have a happy hour special which is good to know for next time. Easy parking in the front lot, too. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area!

10/10 must try spot! We had the lemongrass chicken which has a rubbery skin that we avoided but was extremely tender and bursting with flavor. We also had the crab soup which was divine – perfect crab flavor without feeling very fishy. And then we split a bahn mi which was also very nicely prepared on a fresh baguette.

This is one of the best Vietnamese spots in Canada and this is the only location in the US right now. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their snack platter, lychee soda, matcha coconut cloud, skewers, pork banh mi, special beef pho, special combo rice, sizzling shaking beef fillet, and taro sago to try. The snack platter came with crispy, juicy chicken wings, crispity crunchy egg rolls, fresh salad rolls, smokey, tender grilled pork chops and a panaply of dips that paired well with everything. The lychee soda had a light lychee flave with whole real lychees. The matcha coconut cloud is made with ceremonial grade matcha, was nicely sweet, coconuty and yummy. the flavors of coconut and matcha paired really well. The skewers were all super tender, flavorful, and had amazing charbroiled, grilled smokey flavors. The pork banh mi had a light crispy baguette with crunchy fresh and pickled veggies and savory, sweet, tender umami barbecue pork. The pho was LOADED with really good quality meats and came with like 2 whole ribs! The broth was cozy and flavorful and even tho the noodles soaked up the broth they didn’t get all mushy. The special rice combo came with a grilled pork chop, chicken, and egg roll. Everything had an great barbecue grilled flavor and paired perfectly with the rice. The sizzling beef was super tender, buttery, and garlicy and was really good with the eggs and rice that came with it. The taro sago was not too sweet, perfectly coconuty, creamy, and had pieces of soft taro and plenty of sago. That was my grandmas favorite. My top items were matcha cloud, the sizzling beef and pho but honestly everything here is really good and flavorful. Portions are good, prices are fair, and people are nice. Might be my new fave Viet place cuz this place is pretty good.

snack platter $27.99
lychee soda $7
matcha coconut cloud $7
pork banh mi $10.99
skewers $3.99
special beef pho $18.99
special combo rice $18.99
sizzling shaking beef fillet $22.99
taro sago $6

I can’t believe I just found this spot in Pasadena—I’m literally gatekeeping this, but it’s too good not to share!

LA weather is doing its thing again, jumping straight to 80°F (30°C). When it’s this hot, I lose my appetite for everything… except a solid bowl of Pho. I found this place on Maps and expected a quick, mid-day snack, but OMG. The portions? Massive. The flavor? Next level.

My Must-Order List:

✨ Special Combo Pho This bowl left me speechless. They do NOT skimp on the meat—tripe, tendon, rare beef, it was loaded! But the real MVP? The beef balls. They are so bouncy and “QQ” (super springy texture), not floury at all. The broth is super clear and sweet, not heavy.

✨ Lotus Root Salad (Goi Ngo Sen) The ultimate refresher! The lotus root is so crunchy it literally snaps. It’s got that perfect sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy lime dressing. Scoop it up with a shrimp cracker for that crunch-on-crunch action. Seriously, it’s a summer lifesaver.

✨ Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) If you’re a spice lover, this is your soulmate in a bowl. The thick noodles soak up all that rich, spicy, lemongrass-infused broth. It’s got that slight tang that just wakes up your taste buds!

✨ Special Appetizer Platter The pork chops and chicken wings are charred to perfection—so juicy! But my fave is the Spring Rolls. So fresh for summer, especially when you dunk them in that secret sauce. It’s a literal flavor bomb.

✨ Beef Stew with Baguette The plot twist of the meal! The beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Dipping that warm, crusty baguette into the thick curry gravy? Best carb-on-carb action ever.

To Wash It All Down:

Lychee Soda: Basically summer in a cup.

Matcha Coconut Water: A weirdly amazing combo. The earthy matcha + sweet coconut water = the ultimate palate cleanser.

The Verdict: The flavors here hit different—the broth has so much depth compared to the usual chains. It’s super affordable, the portions are huge, and the vibes are right. If you’re in Pasadena, RUN, don’t walk!

The best marinated chicken I’ve ever had! Super crispy wings were a surprise. I got the R3 in house combo- grilled pork, grilled chicken and spring roll- it came with broken rice! Absolutely delicious

Service was fast and very attentive! Next time I’ll try pho and Vietnamese coffee

I was on my way from Burbank to Yaamava casino and had been craving for Vietnamese food and had found this place … the food was great and authentic. Flavor is rich and that’s how I like it. I highly recommend this place. The only thing is, I keep starring at the young guy server with his gloves on. He needs to change gloves in between while prepping food, serving people drinks/food, doing cashier work. That is all. Overall 5/5 stars!⭐️

Went once. Got the special. Did not disappoint. Very filling, the noodles were not over cooked, and the beef rib was something else.

I’m obsessed with their satay beef pho! A creamy, peanut, curry sauce is added to their base pho broth. It comes with rare steak/tai meat but you could sub for other preferences.

The pho broth is pretty light. Almost like a chicken based broth. Which I’m in the mood for at times.
