231 West Patisserie is an absolute must-stop when in Marquette!

This charming spot offers a small but delicious selection of breakfast and lunch features, along with an impressive array of sweet treats that are impossible to resist.

We tried the chorizo burrito- warm, cheesy, just enough spice. For dessert, the mango cheesecake was light and refreshing, and the candy bar cake is a fun treat with its crunchy exterior and light, smooth interior. During breakfast time, glazed croissants are a delicious treat- Buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth good with a sweet vanilla glaze.

Whether you’re craving a savory option or a beautifully crafted pastry, 231 West delivers every time. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and phenomenal food- this patisserie is one of Marquette’s hidden gems.

Stopped in for a takeout sandwich for lunch. I got the Tofu Focaccia warmed up ($9). It was delicious and I would definitely get it again. Coffee here is responsibly sourced and very tasty. Lemon basil cookie for dessert! Yum!

I absolutely loved this place. Staff was so friendly and the decorations inside and atmosphere instantly blew my mind with how crafty and vibrant it is! Love the macaroons definitely worth the price coffee was probably the best coffee ive had in a while! Packaging for the food as well is also a nice touch! 10/10 recommend!

Visiting from Sweden, this is probably one of the first places ive seen so far around the area that has fresh Macarons, also the first cup of tea that isnt from a bag. Good prices, very lovely music.

The macaroons were good and big in size, a little expensive but most macaroons are pricey. I will say the matcha wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, it could have used some more flavor.

Very nice service and chill atmosphere!

My partner and I stopped in on our way to another shop downtown. We came in 35 minutes before close and were met with a very unenthusiastic employee. I understand being tired etc, as I work in retail currently, but it gets to a point. Like ignoring us while you restock a pastry in the case. It was difficult to catch the employee’s attention and even after I said “Yeah I think we know what we want.” cue word for “we need assistance”, she continued to put away the pastries. It wasn’t until I said I wanted some chocolate covered strawberries that she eventually put down the pastries and got some for us. we also got macarons and when we asked what the flavors were, she rattled them off very quickly and it was hard to remember what was what. When it was time to pay, she entered in what we got, set up the payment screen, and left us to go put back those dang pastries.
The food was okay, the chocolate strawberries weren’t super spectacular, and I’ve had better macarons.
Overall, the service was awful, and the food was okay.

I was lucky enough to still be able to get a Pan au Chocolate when I got there at 10:30 so I was stoked. I also grabbed a few other Croissants and Danishes. They are absolutely delicious, flaky, just buttery goodness. Well worth the stop. The staff was very friendly and the place is easy to find, we’ll stop here again next time we’re in town for certain!

Stopped here for lunch on a whim and so glad I did. The ham and cheese croissant was perfectly flaky and delicious. The chorizo burrito was also scrumptious. We also had the granola parfait which was perfectly balanced sweet, crunchy, and creamy goodness.

A fun small bakery with a decent selection of pastries. We got there later in the day after dinner, so I’m sure there’s typically a better selection. The white chocolate dessert was delicious! A great balance of sweet and tart. We found the flavor options of macaroons to be a little unadventurous. And some of the more adventurous options weren’t all that good. Our favorite was the fig!

Overall they seemed to have a lot of nice space for patrons to eat, work, or hang out with others. This was definitely a place I didn’t see being in the UP but Marquette is a great spot for it.
