Nachos and atmosphere for sure. The millennial emo playlist and hot Tabasco martinis completely set the mood. Make sure you ask Nick who his favorite Disney character is.

21st Amendment is one of my go-to spots—I’m here almost every weekend, and it’s easily in my top three bars in Boston. The vibe is what keeps me coming back. Between the history of the place and how convenient the location is, it’s the kind of bar that just works whether you’re starting the night or settling in for a few drinks.
The staff is a big part of what makes it great. Mariajose and Francesca are both excellent servers—friendly, attentive, and consistent. Nick behind the bar is just as solid and keeps things moving even when the place is packed. Service always feels smooth and professional without being forced.
The drink selection is strong, with a good variety of beers and a well-stocked lineup of liquors. The food is classic bar food—simple, straightforward, and tasty. It’s not trying to be anything fancy, but it gets the job done, which honestly fits the place perfectly.
Overall, 21st Amendment is a staple. Great energy, reliable service, solid drinks, and a location that makes it easy to keep coming back.

Stopped by around 6:40 p.m. hoping for a quick bite. The place was extremely loud, and though I waited for a couple of minutes, no staff acknowledged me or offered a table. Overall, it didn’t feel welcoming or clean, so I decided to leave. Not the experience I was hoping for.

Faye was the best bartender I’ve probably ever had. She is the sweetest human and the nicest girl. Everytime I go back to Boston I recommend this bar purely because she is amazing. Please enjoy and need faith! Happy Boston-ing!!

It was not busy when I went (late afternoon). I was able to choose my own seat and chose the dining area up the steps. Great ambiance- dark woods, copper hood over the fireplace. Ordered drinks, onion rings (crisp and well-seasoned), and buffalo tenders (an app but more than enough for a meal). The sauce had some heat but not too bad. The chicken was moist, lightly breaded, and meaty. Great service. There was a full service bar and outdoor seating too. Would go there again.

I can’t believe it took me so long to find this place, but I’m glad I did. It doesn’t get any better than this…cozy old pub with a friendly staff and great food and drinks. The sliders were cooked perfectly and were amazing with thick pieces of juicy beef, and the Manhattan I had with it was great. Oh, and generous pours too! But the food and drinks were just the icing on the cake…the main draw for me was the atmosphere. It’s just a nice place to warm up after a cold night out.

I was at 21st Amendment with a large and quite frankly annoying group but our sever Isabella displayed grace, poise, professionalism and attentiveness throughout our drinking and dining experience. She has earned our devotion and we will certainly be back.

Each year I come to Boston and when I do, this is always one my stops along the way. The service is great and extremely fast. The vibe is chill, with normal sounding without the need to scream to the person sitting next to you. Beers are solid if you enjoy tap and their nachos are amazing. Each year, it feels like the nachos get bigger and bigger. While I always finish my plate, this year the nachos definitely won.

Do not waste your time or money! The service was terrible!! They forgot to put in my order but tried to play it off as if it was normal. My family would have been done by the time my food came but i finally just cancelled it. Didn’t stop by once to refill sodas or ask how we were doing. I had to get up to find a server and they were busy chatting with friends. The food was ok but nothing special. There a many significantly better options close by.

My boyfriend and I were wandering around Boston and stumbled upon this place by accident. We ordered some beers, and after coming back from the bathroom, I suddenly realized my promise ring was missing.
Not only did the customers help me search for it, but the bartender (I wish I had caught her name) went above and beyond—she helped me sift through the bathroom trashcan twice.
We ended up having three beers total, and the staff insisted they were on the house to help lift my spirits, even though there was a chance the ring had been lost somewhere on the street.
“A ring doesn’t make a couple,” the staff and customers told us.
We didn’t try the food, but the Allagash and Maine Lunch were great.
We haven’t found the ring (yet), but I truly just wanted to say that the service here was the kindest and most caring I’ve ever experienced.
