I came specifically because I saw duck breast on the menu. We were able to get a last-minute reservation over the weekend.
For drinks, the zero-proof rosé was not great, it tasted more like sugary water with very little aroma. My friend’s winter old fashioned was ok. We later ordered a classic old fashioned, which was better. Some of the premium cocktails that we didn’t try are priced in the $20+ range.
Both appetizers were solid. The kale salad was refreshing and exactly what I expected from the description. The octopus dish was generous in portion and came with sautéed kale, which added a nice texture contrast.
The duck breast was what I looked forward to the most. Since it’s poultry, I ordered it medium. It came out undercooked. once we opened it up, the inside was mostly deep red rather than the usual cooked pink. We let the server know, and they kindly offered to reheat it. Unfortunately, even after reheating, I’d say I’ve had much better duck breast elsewhere, including another restaurant that’s only walkable distance away in the same neighbourhood.
To make up for it, the restaurant kindly offered a complimentary dessert, a house-made donut. The chocolate mousse was extremely rich.
Overall, the service was warm and attentive. That said, food is ultimately the most important part of a dining experience. This place is decent, not bad by any means, but not one I’d go out of my way to recommend.
Our evening started off in a bit of a sour mood due to external factors, but James, our incredible server, completely turned that around when we entered the restaurant. His warmth, attention to detail, and energy truly made the night. A true 5-star experience.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Each dish was a masterclass in flavor—bold, creative, and harmonious. Every bite was like a symphony—unexpected ingredients working together in perfect rhythm to deliver something both surprising and unforgettable. It’s rare to find a place that balances innovation with comfort so well, and 2120 nails it.
This was easily one of the most unique and memorable dining experiences I’ve had in years. I can’t recommend it enough— and already have.
The food was even better. I ordered the king salmon and it was cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside while still soft, tender, and flavorful on the inside. You can really tell they focus on quality ingredients and careful preparation.
And the dessert completely topped off the experience — the perfect ending to the meal.
Not to mention excellent service!
Highly recommend and I will absolutely be coming back.
The prices are fairly good for a fine dining experience and every dish was well made.
We came here to celebrate a birthday and they gave us a birthday card, which is nice. Though another table beside us got comp’d dessert for their birthday celebration, which was a bit of a downer. Also, the server had asked if we wanted to spread our dishes out more as we ordered a couple of starters and one main, but they wound up coming almost all at once, which made our dining experience faster than anticipated.
Their drinks are well made, but if you’re looking for cocktails, there’s a cocktail bar next door.
They serve good food, solid drinks, and overall it’s a solid restaurant. Just a few small kinks to work out and it would have been a perfect dining experience.
Started with the mussels, which have a coconut and squash broth. Mussels themselves were smaller, which is good, as that avoids chewiness. Overall very good, but 4* from us because it tended a bit too sweet. They included some nice grilled bread for dipping.
Then split the bar steak and Belgian frites. Both were absolutely excellent, with the steak a perfect medium. They kindly split the plates ahead of time without us asking, and I swear gave us each a full order of fries.
We started with their seasonal old fashioned, which was spot on. Tasty and not too sweet or too dry. After that, happy hour red for me, bubbles for my wife. Well priced at happy hour, but beware during the week, as it is literally 1 hr, but all day on weeekends.
We will be back in there soon.
