I’m not into trashing a local establishment, but I literally could not have been more disappointed.
First off, I ordered the Big Bacon Cheeseburger for $7. It featured ONE Smashburger of no more than 2-3 ounces. It was burnt to a crisp. All the photos I’ve seen show 2 patties. I make smash burgers at my home all the time and 1 patty shouldn’t even be an option.
Onto the fries: the pictures on google show that they were fresh cut and they were not. Also, the person I went with and I tasted a pickle flavor on the fries. Obviously because they’re using the same oil to make fried pickles.
The atmosphere and vibe were awful. The guy working wasn’t friendly. Nothing in the restaurant is done with excellence. Cables everywhere and none are attempted at being concealed. Our table was leveled with a crumbled up napkin. They don’t have a fountain drink machine so you have to buy bottles of pop.
I won’t be back. I literally feel like I ate at an imposter restaurant and not the one on this listing. If you go, I hope and pray you have a better experience than I.
HOWEVER, I Love burgers and I still have this place a 5/5 because I am confident the next thing I try will be amazing! The service was RIDICULOUSLY FAST and when I went to pick it up it was packed full of people telling me this is truly a good place to eat. I will def be back to try the mushroom Swiss or the smash burger!!
ALSO, very cheap prices!!
**I will give the remainder of my rating and will follow up as my taste/smell returns.
*Texture: this one was easier for me as I wasn’t distracted by taste. The texture is a huge thing for me as there’s a lot of textures that keep me from eating certain foods. I was happy with the texture of the single bacon & cheese smash burger and fries. The Smashburger was crispy where needed and tender where should be. The Hotdog needs more of a thinner slaw or maybe more of that and Hd sauce. I felt the slaw was too thick. Needed more “water factor” added in. Hotdog sauce in more abundance would greatly help this dog.
*Presentation/packaging: He did a great job with packaging. I’m not a huge fan of Styrofoam because of landfill problems, and the river nearby, but starting out, you get what helps the pocket.
*Visual appearance. I was pleased with the visual appearance of the smash burger & fries. Refer back to Hotdog texture for the HD. The appearance would greatly improve with some extra Hotdog sauce & a more moisture filled slaw.
*Window service: He greeted me with a grin, hello, and laughed at my remark. Due to Covid, I already had my order written out for the service window. I pd the fellow, he asked for a name for the order and I told him just Holler at me there down in front. I’ll be in my car. About 10-15 mins later here comes my order for 3 adults and 3 schnauzers straight to my car window. That’s Bonus points from me!
*Mind you. These photos are after a 10 minute drive home from the restaurant and after servicing our 3 Schnauzers with their special orders from 1st & Main Burgers.
Best part, is the price! It’s cheaper than Wendy’s!
Also, the fries are some of the best I’ve had lately. They are crispy enough but you can still definitely taste the potato and they were well salted. I would compare them to Penn Station fries which are some of my favorites. I am looking forward to trying some of the other menu items!
