We had a lovely brunch today at 1928! To start, we had bloody Mary’s which were amazing & added bonus, came with blue cheese stuffed olives. For our meals – we split the shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon toast (our favorite) and the Caesar salad! Will definitely come back here.

Just had an excellent dinner here with my parents and our expectations were easily exceeded. We had only an okay meal at the 1928 in Beacon Hill last time we went, so we came here cautiously optimistic. The result? I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

For starters, the 1928 caesar was tasty and the arancini were pretty good (I give the sauce a firm thumbs up, but it was slightly on the more fried side than what I’d prefer). The entrees were fantastic though. The scallops were probably the favorite and eating them with the grapefruit and the leek and the potato was 10/10. The duck was also surprisingly good too as I’ve never had candied pecans with meat before and with the sweet potato puree? Wow. Lastly, the bolognese was pretty solid and the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, but didn’t stand out as much as the others.

For dessert (they were on the smaller side), we shared the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate torte. Both were high quality, clearly made fresh in-house with good ingredients. Would definitely recommend both of those.

Oh, and I almost forgot: the pornstar martini was absolutely worth the $25.

Me & my siblings went last night for my sisters birthday & the experience was absolutely amazing!! 100/10! We started off with the lobster nuggets & wow! It was so juicy & the sauce was amazing. We also ordered the lamb which again.. the sauce! To die for & calamari which was so good with a hint of spicy & then for our entrees, my brother and I split a filet mignon, which melted like butter with brussel sprouts which I loved & the Mac and cheese needed a little more salt along with the shrimp scampi my sister ordered. Overall amazing& the drinks were so yummy! We all had 2 rounds and every drink we ordered was perfect! We also got a complementary round of Prosecco & another sweet drink (I don’t remember the name) for my sisters birthday which I thought was extremely generous. Don’t remember the last restaurant I’ve been to that had done that. If you decide to get any dessert please try the mango sorbet!! *chefs kiss …. I want to end with speaking about the service.. Kelsey, our server was attentive, kind, knowledgeable, helpful just an absolute pleasure! I recommend her every time!! She absolutely made the experience even better! Thank you for a great night & can’t wait to go back!

Stopped in for lunch after a morning of shopping, and we were so delighted with our experience. The hostess was sure to give us a table that accommodated our shopping bags, and our waitress Liz was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The cocktails were fun and not watered down, and the bar had no problem making a classic cocktail that wasn’t on the menu (a Bloody Mary). The appetizers and mains were delicious and great sized portions. Definitely will return!

Stopped in for an early evening drink. Was greeted quickly and shown to the bar. The bar staff were busy with several clients, but I only waited a few minutes. After reviewing a nice selection of drink options from the menu I selected The 1928 cocktail. I believe this is their Signature Cocktail.

Drink was not really what I was expecting, based off the description, but was very flavorful and pleasant on the palate. Would absolutely order again. I paid ~$30 for the drink with a nice tip.

Amazing experience. The atmosphere is beautiful and fun but not too loud. The food is absolutely delicious and has all the best dishes from the original restaurant. The duck, Cesar Salad, Brussels, shrimp scampi are not to be missed! The service was phenomenal and everyone who worked there was so accommodating and kind. I will be back. Highly recommend!

SIMPLY AMAZING – I rarely write reviews but 1928 Rowes Wharf deserves significant praise for what they have created and deliver. We had a group of 10 celebrating a special birthday and could not have been happier!

The food was excellent with several options for a variety of palates and appetites! They offer many staples and favorites with their own unique twist. A level of flavor and sophistication that impressed our entire group.

The staff was very friendly and engaging and really incredible with their food/drink/wine suggestions, pairings, timing and overall attentiveness.

The atmosphere, vibe, decor and energy were all also great and commensurate with other high end establishments, but this sits above most because of how warm and inviting it is.

I have dined in most major cities within the US and Europe and this experience was one of the very best!

Highly recommended on all fronts!!

We had a reservation at 7 and arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. Unfortunately, both bartenders were extremely slow and seemed overwhelmed despite the bar not being very busy. We had to repeatedly ask for service or to order another drink. We even ran into an old friend who frequents the restaurant and mentioned he experiences the same issues at the bar.

Once seated, our server was excellent and the food was very good overall. I wasn’t a fan of the vongole, but they took it off the bill without hesitation, which was appreciated.

However, the situation with the manager truly soured the experience. Our friend from the bar came over to our table and the manager abruptly approached our table asking if we were “okay,” if we felt uncomfortable, and whether we knew this man, all while giving rude looks. We explained we had called him over and have known him for years. He also told us the manager had earlier approached him at the bar and asked him to move.

I’ve been in the restaurant industry for years, and I can confidently say this was unprofessional and unnecessary. A manager should know how to read a room, communicate respectfully, and make guests feel welcome, not uncomfortable. If this manager is the face of your restaurant, it will be difficult to build the loyal following it deserves with her attitude.
