The New York strip didn’t seem to be all that flavorful in his opinion and the backside was charred too much.
My personal experience: The bread had great flavor but was over cooked on the outside. I understand the crust on this bread is meant to be a little tougher than typical bread however, it was very hard to bite into. I ordered the beef bourguignon. It had great flavor. it came with roasted carrots and mashed potatoes and the red wine sauce were quite tasty. However, the beef was very tough and gristly. I would expect for a $40 dish that the beef would be tender.
The atmosphere was quite cozy. Very beautiful establishment.
The waiter was good and everyone very nice. Unfortunately, the delivery of food was slow.
I would like to say I would give it a second try, but that probably won’t happen for the prices and the quality of the food that I received.
Then grilled shrimp appetizer. Delicious!!
House salads very fresh with house made blue cheese and ranch dressing, house made bread with garlic chive butter ; excellent! Then melt I. Your mouth Filet & mushrooms and Ribeye ( should of topped with smoked blue cheese, next time!!) with garlic mashed potatoes, big portions! So good will definitely recommend and return!! Service was excellent !!
The menu is on the smaller side, but everything I’ve tried has been so good. My favorite appetizer is the corn ribs. Oh my goodness. Absolutely delicious and something I had never even heard of before. The drinks are just as amazing. You can tell the bar staff truly care about what they do. Maysen is usually our bartender and she is hands down wonderful.
My go to drinks
The Jungle Bird
The Lemon Drop Martini
☕️ And I always finish the night with an Espresso Martini
Saturday nights are my favorite because they have live acoustic music in the bar. It just creates the sweetest vibe and makes the whole place feel warm and alive. And the outdoor patio… I could stay out there all night. It’s beautiful.
Javier really gifted Martinsville with a treasure when he opened this place. ❤️
Yes it’s new, just opened in October, so there is still come tweaking to do. But every time we go, it gets better and better. If you visited early on and it wasn’t what you hoped for, I truly think you should give it another try. They’re growing. They’re learning. They’re putting in the work. And honestly, the staff and atmosphere alone make it worth the trip.✨

We arrived for our reservation and were pleased that we did not have to wait more than a couple minutes. We were taken to our table and the waitress walked up immediately. While I appreciated the timely arrival, she asked us for our drink order while we were still taking off our coats, before we were able to sit down and look at the drink menu. Therefore, right away we felt rushed. The drinks were alright. The elote corn dip appetizer was good, as well as the rolls and herb butter. I ordered a filet mignon and my husband ordered a sirloin for dinner. I ordered my filet medium and my husband ordered his sirloin medium-rare. My filet arrived medium-rare/rare (pictured) and my husband’s sirloin was extremely rare. Not only were both our entrees severely undercooked, we heard other tables around us complain of the same issue. Just a couple bites into our meal, the waitress came to ask if we wanted dessert. We weren’t sure because we had just started eating but went ahead and declined dessert. She brought the check to our table while we weren’t even halfway through our mail. Again, we felt rushed.
Overall it was not the best experience. It just seems like they have a lot of things that need to be tweaked. It seems that the servers and the chef all need a bit more training in steakhouse etiquette and cooking techniques. The prices did not match the quality of the food or the experience. I am glad we went because now we know, but we don’t believe we will be returning nor do will we recommend this place to others. If you want a proper steakhouse experience, spend the little bit of extra money and go to Ruth’s Chris or Harry and Izzy’s.
