I visited this restaurant and had a fantastic dining experience. We ordered a spicy beef noodle soup, a second bowl with a lighter broth, popcorn chicken over rice, and brown sugar bubble milk tea.
The spicy beef noodle soup was the highlight of the meal. The broth had a deep, rich flavor with a satisfying level of heat, and the generous topping of tender sliced beef, fresh garlic, and green onions added great texture and aroma. You could really taste the complexity of the spices without it being overwhelming. The noodles were cooked perfectly—firm and chewy.
The second soup had a lighter, clearer broth but was equally flavorful. It felt comforting and balanced, especially with the fresh vegetables on top.
The fried chicken rice plate was also excellent. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, paired nicely with rice, vegetables, and braised egg. It made for a hearty and satisfying dish.
To top it off, the brown sugar bubble milk tea was creamy and refreshing, with perfectly chewy boba and just the right amount of sweetness.
The atmosphere was lively and casual, making it a great place for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Service was efficient, and the portions were generous for the price.
Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you’re craving authentic and flavorful Taiwanese-style comfort food. I would definitely come back again!

The popcorn chicken dish was perfection, and the beef noodle soup was very good too, just slightly spicy.
Can’t wait to try more dishes!

Came here for the $20 restaurant week lunch special and it was wonderful! Will def be back 🙂 I got the house special malatang with tomato broth and beef and popcorn chicken for appetizer. Absolutely loved the popcorn chicken it was so crunchy and delicious! And perfectly fried, not greasy at all. Also was blown away by so many toppings in the malatang and how clean the tomato broth was and fresh the ingredients in it. 10/10!!!

This was my first time trying malatang, and I enjoyed it. Food and drinks were good, a bit hit and miss. Service was nice and friendly.

* Dumpling Malatang + Udon Noodles in Original Malatang Broth (Spicy) – 4/5 – The broth was very flavorful due to the various spices. The Spicy level was medium low spicy, not too much. I added udon noodles and they were yummy and chewy. The dumplings were okay.

* Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup 3.5/5 – The soup was alright, mildly spicy with a clear-body broth, the kind you’d have when you’re feeling under the weather. It didn’t have a complex flavor profile that I had at other restaurants. The beef was very tender and flavorful. Though its taste didn’t match the broth’s. It was as if they were cooked with completely different seasonings. The noodles were not good. I should have replaced them with udon noodles.

* Jasmine Milk Tea and House Milk Tea 4/5 – The two milk tea were pretty good. 100% sweetness was perfect and not too sweet for me (I usually order 75% sweet). The boba was chewy and tasty.

We came for late lunch, the location was a bit hard to find but there was plenty of parking on the street. The hotpot was great , we chose the light broth with some other snacks like chicken wings and some sort of sausage. We will come back again with our kiddos.

5/5 Portion size is very filling.
4/5 Taiwanese beef noodle soup: Good for a clean soup taste. Ask for chili oil to make it spicy.
5/5 Malatang house combo + lamb: Good mix of veggies. Wish there was more meat. Soup was creamy and flavorful.
3/5 Bok choy with meat sauce: Sauce is not as flavorful as other houses but it is a good balance if you are looking for something more bland. Can get it vegetarian or vegan.
2/5 Parking is very difficult. You can find street parking if you can walk 1-2 blocks over.
