I love this place!
Victor, Colorado, is just this side of being a full fledged ghost town – but there are still some vibrant businesses and the 1899 Mining Claim and Saloon is a hidden gem in the mountains!
We were there on a day when Cripple Creek was having a festival and the restaurant was way busier than normal. The sole server was flying around the room and providing excellent service despite the intense workload.
The food here leans towards burgers and fries but WOW the burgers are so good! Premium beef, cooked perfectly, on fresh buns and the fries are outstanding.
It isn’t easy running a restaurant in 2025 and even harder when you’re in a small community. Kudos to the owners, managers and staff of the 1899 Mining Claim for running an outstanding operations. We’ll be back!

If you happen to stumble upon Victor Colorado you MUST stop at this Saloon. I felt so welcomed, truly felt like I was hanging out with people that I’ve known my whole life. Service, environment, vibe, karaoke, everything was perfect! Thanks again for everything!!

Nowhere else was opened. But that was fine. It was great place to visit. We had a large group and sat outside. The bar tender came out and waited on us. She was so nice and patient. Just a simple local bar with good food a reasonably priced drinks. With a great view of Main Street.

The most awkward bar I’ve ever been too. No music or tvs on. Just the bartender and cook were working. My husband and I each ordered a burger and a drink. My husband’s chili burger was good but my bacon cheese burger just seemed like the cheese was old. Potatoes peeled fresh for fries but peels were left on the floor. Not to mention they just kinda sit and watch you eat. Very awkward experience and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

We stopped in for a bite to eat and we were all absolutely blown away with how delicious our hamburgers were! I never leave a review but this place was so good that I had to make the time to let others know. The burgers for all four of us melted in our mouths. We are still talking about it the next day. The only down side is that the chairs were not very comfortable, but that won’t keep us from visiting there again.

Great home-like atmosphere! There is a Coors sign above the Entrance. You can’t miss it. Clean! The waitress was very attentive. Full bar. The fried zucchini was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fries were awesome! My husband really liked his bacon cheese burger and I loved my cheese burger. You get to decide what add-ons you would like on your burger for a very small fee. The meat patty is HUGE! And you could taste the flavor in every bite. It was a young man cooking today,and he did a fantastic job. If you get a chance you definitely need to try this place. It was excellent! Enjoy

Update: returned recently and spent a long weekend in Victor. Enjoyed the atmosphere and conversation with the locals, staff and international artists visiting. I adjusted my rating to five stars. This place is consistent, the food and drinks are great and priced right. I’ll definitely visit every trip! 🙂 had a blast!
Historic saloon located next to the Victor Hotel. Had a wonderful time on the patio taking in the views of Battle Mountain. Had the best bar burger I’ve maybe ever had. It was real beef and not a preformed frozen patty. The staff was mindful of my dietary needs and got my order correct. It’s a friendly place where the locals hang out. Nice small town neighborhood bar.

Updated July 18th, 2024. Got there when it opened and they had a rush of folks needing sustenance. Only one server and cook and they handed it with grace and style! Great burger and fries and the beer served cold!! Love this little joint!

We were doing a trail in the area and very hungry. We had very few choices. We were very pleased with this place. The food was good and they had a game that our kids enjoyed playing.
