The 1899 Bar & Grill features a dedicated staff of servers, many of them NAU students. The restaurant is a valuable resource for NAU’s Hotel and Restaurant program, enabling these students to learn in a real-world setting, all while the restaurant remains a full-service, independent eatery, separate from NAU’s other retail outlets. Using global accents, the culinary crew of 1899 have developed a menu featuring bold flavors and hand-crafted options that pair nicely with our complete wine list, specialty cocktails and local beers on tap. Parking is free in front of the restaurant or in the conference center parking garage.

First time here as an NAU student, food was delicious and had fair Flagstaff prices. I had the 1899 Burger medium rare and it was juicy and tender. Service was also delightful, our host Trinity was very helpful and attentive to us. Wait time wasn’t bad either, would go again

My company Visiting Angels of Northern AZ hosted team building luncheon in your private dining room yesterday 10/11/2025. Jaylie the server was fun, friendly and helpful. The entire staff made us feel special. The manager of my Flagstaff office and I are both foodies. She even owned her own catering business. So we know GREAT CUISINE . YOUR FOOD was beyond yummy, healthy and great selection. I have lived in PRESCOTT for over 30 years. My family lives in Phoenix. I am telling EVERYONE on social media and in person about you all! This restaurant is across the street from the Drury Inn at which we were staying while traveling. Walked over for dinner. It was Christmas Eve and there were few diners due to technical issues that caused them to turn away many. The dining area is spacious, bright and not jam-packed with tables. We were able to be seated, and were served by Jordan. He was delightfully welcoming, friendly and informative. His service was great! The food measured up, too. We ordered the Mac & Cheese and the Shrimp Skewers. We each had a glass of wine and dessert. All items were delicious. Total bill, including tax, was $75. We will certainly be back on the return drive of our trip.

I had a great experience here! My server, Caleb, was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made the meal even better. I started with the deviled eggs and artichoke as appetizers, and both were absolutely delicious. For my main course, I had the sirloin, which was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. Everything from the food to the service was top-notch. I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend it!

Our food was absolutely incredible. The fried cauliflower, the ribeye, 1899 burgers, and pork belly tacos were amazing. The atmosphere is very classy. The only downside is that the service was pretty slow which I would understand if it was busy but it was not. However our server herself was very nice and informative and we enjoyed her, and the hostess was very kind too.
