My wife and I ate at the 1898 Public House for her birthday on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. I made a reservation for 7 p.m. that evening. When it was taking longer than anticipated to get everyone ready (we were dropping our kids off at my parents’ house so we could go on my wife’s birthday date), I called the restaurant and asked if we could move our reservation to 7:30 p.m. They told me they couldn’t accommodate that. We kicked it into high gear and got the kids ready in time, drove all the way up north (we live in the Valley), dropped the kids off at their grandparents, and made it just before 7 p.m. to the 1898 Public House. We then sat in the waiting area well-past our 7 p.m. reservation until we were finally seated. I really wish they would have just given us the 30 minute extension—if they are going to hold us to our obligation, they should uphold their own, right?

But that is pretty much the only complaint I have. The dining area is beautiful and clean. The chairs and tables are high quality, comfortable, and elegant. They really help convey the idea that a delicious meal awaits. My wife ordered the New York steak and I ordered the steak melt. We also ordered a round of Blue Moons that were cold, tall, and perfectly garnished with oranges. But back to the food. If I was to describe our dinners in one word it would be simple: flavorful. In addition to the steak, the delicious sour dough bread paired with the blackberry jam just punched a really unique and yummy taste. My wife’s steak and mashed potatoes also left nothing to be desired when it came to the superb taste. At $62 it would have been nice for the steak to be a little more tender but the flavor wasn’t lacking.

Our server was Sara and she was very eager. She let us know about the menu and wasn’t shy about telling us her personal favorite menu items. We really appreciated that she asked if she could take a photo of us with my wife’s phone (we gladly accepted). Another memorable part of our visit was the complimentary chocolate dessert they brought out for my wife’s birthday. It was a wonderful way to conclude the meal. We would return to the 1898 Public House again but would hope they would offer a little more flexibility, especially if they don’t plan to adhere to their own standards.

My family and I have been here 2 times now in a 2 week span because this place is so good! I forgot to take pictures of everyone else’s plates but I had the fried chicken and it was amazing! The second time I ordered the huckleberry ribs and they were delicious! The service is superb and the atmosphere is perfect! We will definitely be back!

We arrived with a large group on short notice on a Wednesday afternoon, and 1898 Public House handled it with remarkable professionalism. The staff was gracious, accommodating, and immediately made us feel welcome.

The food was both thoughtfully presented and beautifully executed. The beer-battered fish and chips were crisp and refined, the New York steak was prepared exceptionally well, and the Signature Burger and Caprese Piadina were equally impressive. Desserts were a standout—the turtle cheesecake and crème brûlée were indulgent without being heavy. Cocktails were confidently poured, and the huckleberry lemonade was impossible to resist.

Zac elevated the entire experience. He was polished yet personable, attentive without being intrusive, and brought a natural warmth and wit that made the evening feel special. An excellent dining experience from start to finish—one we will gladly repeat.

The food was amazing, the hostesses were super nice. All the staff we spoke with were super nice. Our server wasn’t super attentive, but in his defense it was an extremely busy night and some tables kept him longer than others. We felt out of place wearing our normal farm/ranch clothes but there was not one judgemental look or whisper. That helped us feel a little less out of place and really spoke about how wonderful the staff is. One even stated she liked my husband’s cowboy hat. 🙂 We ordered dessert to go and the plating in the to go containers were absolutely gorgeous as well.

I visited their restaurant during their week-long event, but it was the last time I’d consider dining there. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff was friendly and attentive. However, the food was a complete disappointment, and the cleanliness of their cutlery was even worse. Their trophy wall was in dire need of a spring cleaning, and the overall food quality was subpar.

Amazing customer service, OUTSTANDING food every time. They had this jambalaya pasta on the valentine’s day menu and it was the perfect amount of spicy and creamy. Their bread service is to die for as well!! Please 1898, if you see this, keep the pasta on your regular menu! Everyone at the table tried my dish and loved it!

We had lunch at the 1898 Public House today. There was plenty of seating at noon. Our orders were taken quickly and our meals arrived soon after ordering.

There were lots of great menu items to choose from. The Wedge Salad was $14; chicken ($7) added. The Blackened Shrimp Cobb Salad was $17. We felt the prices were very reasonable.

The presentation of the food was beautiful and it was delicious. This was my first visit and I know I will return.

It was a hot day, but there were several golfers on the course. The views of the golf course were beautiful!

Creme Brulee for dessert!

Our first time here and the hubby & I enjoyed the atmosphere. The shareable Tableside ahi tuna & the Blackened shrimp cobb salad were delicious. The service was perfect! Courtney’s customer service was genuinely friendly, the best kind of service. She made our experience a great one.
