We found this restaurant using Google reviews. We were not disappointed. The owners are lovely people who took the time to talk with us about their restaurant and food. The side dishes were all extremely good, there were 6 of us eating and we all agreed. They have many choices for sides. Between us, we had ribs, chicken, and brisket. All were very good. I personally loved the BBQ options you could select from, I even bought a container of one to take home.
I saw other reviews that their prices were a bit high. They are 100% in line with any quality BBQ restaurant. We’ve eaten BBQ in TN, in East Troy, WI, at a well known place in the Madison area, a fabulous place in by Milwaukee, and another very good one in Wautoma. 1895 Rebel BBQ stands up to the quality of all those locations. You get what you pay for, and this meat was good.

Nice stop on the 400 trail. My veggie pasta was fresh and delish, my Bf was happy with his pie and ice cream. Prices and service were great.

Took the family tonight and we really enjoyed it. The Brisket and Chicken were so good! Plenty of sides to choose from, the stew was very good and the pies and cheesecake were delicious! The play area was a plus to occupy the little ones. We’ll be back often. Thanks so much!!!

O.M.G!!!…Hands down the BEST comfort BBQ I’ve EVER had!!…the Ribs…YUM…the Brunswick Stew….YUM…and save room for the BEST PIE EVER (sorry Grandma)…the owners are the nicest husband and wife duo and they have made this place completely home like…YOU MUST COME and experience this ASAP !!!!

Food was excellent. Went with a group of six just before closing time and the owners welcomed us right in. Had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, wide variety of sides and nearly a dozen sauces to choose from…including succotash, Mac n Cheese, southern fried cabbage. Owners were very friendly and stopped by the table to chat. Highly recommend!

Incredible food! My wife and I visited and ordered a little of everything, and we were not disappointed! Up there with the best burnt ends I’ve ever had – and plenty of side choices too! Super friendly owners who we had a great time talking with. We can’t wait to get back there!

Just all around excellent BBQ! Stopped here on a Saturday with family, and the food was absolutely fantastic – everything our group tried was top notch. I had the pulled pork platter, which was smoky and delicious. They have a choice of several different BBQ sauces that you can self-serve and add yourself, so you can mix and match and try different flavors. I really liked the Raspberry Chipotle sauce, but all were great. For sides I had, the “Cowboy Caviar” was crisp and tasty, and the Rebel Stew side was amazing too! The owners were warm and friendly and you can tell they take pride in what they are creating, both the food and the restaurant. In my book, this place is the perfect destination for a leisurely “weekend drive” or bike trip on the 400 trail through the beautiful Wisconsin scenery surrounding Wonewoc for some great eats. I’ve already been telling friends in the area to try this place and certainly plan to go back again!
