New favorite place in Missoula!
The bread service is amazing, the tomato bisque soup like homemade. The chicken Caesar salad taste homemade, the chicken is cooked perfectly! My husband loves the pork chops.
A bit of a wait, but from scratch takes time & well worth it!
Well priced for a fancy well staffed and from scratch food.
If it is too expensive go elsewhere…
The waitress was so sweet that she made my birthday dessert to go with a candle and matches!

1st impression, host was very inviting, regardless of the challenges that he was facing at the time. i requested the bar, he kindly advised it might be a few minutes, which i did not object. i let him know a few minutes later, ill sit anywhere, and he sat me at an upright table soon thereafter, noticing there were 5 spots unnacvounted for.. 2 remained empty for 30 minutes and 3 the duration of my 1hr visit appetizer/drink. i ordered a red wine and the bone brulee marrow. waiter was equally kind, super guy.. only critique: the marrow was too sweet, and bread should be minus any crostini oil, due to the richness of the marrow. the appetizer was a meal. summing it up… bar seating ease, marrow…less sugar, dry crispy bread, 2 marrows, not 3.
thanks

Absolutely lovely place!
So much fun and the food was FANTASTIC.
My server Eric was very kind and attentive, and helped me pick out some delicious wine, as well as giving me some great info about the menu. I didn’t get the name of the hostess, but she was so sweet and welcoming!
Overall I felt treated like royalty; it was such a wonderful experience.
I also LOVE that they don’t make their staff cover arm tattoos with sleeves or anything like that.
The food I got was the Oysters on the half shell, French Onion soup, Dayboat Scallops and Butterscotch Creme Brulee.

This was my first trip to Missoula, Montana, and after a day of outdoor adventures a steakhouse seemed a very appropriate choice for dinner! I love that the name is 1889 and that’s when Montana became a state! As a restaurant designer I notice everything, and I absolutely thought the steer head on the rough wood wall at the entrance was stunning! Another thing I always notice is the noise level… granted it was not super full when we dined but it was easy to hear across the table and carry on a conversation… thank goodness! I also love that this restaurants food is locally and regionally sourced!! Tonight our server was Scott, who I thought was fantastic! He had a super cool, chill vibe and a look that fit the restaurant perfectly… he was also very knowledgeable about the menu and guided us correctly! We did not have cocktails tonight but did have 2 bottles of a really great red wine… (they do have an extensive collection to choose from.) Three of the four of us had the famous steaks, which were fantastic. I had the Halibut which was also very tasty along with the Hamachi Crudo. Not only was the Hamachi delicious but it was a beautiful presentation! My husband had 3 Oysters as an appetizer and a Caesar salad to start. We finished off with Boozy Affogato (they have a few to choose from) that was delightful! I might just have to copy that at home!! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Missoula!

Great service and great food. Try the 8oz Filet, cooked perfectly to your liking , paired with a side of shoestring fries. The vanilla bean creme brulee is topped with a caramelized orange slice for a perfect orange cremesicle taste.

Here from TN for my birthday and had dinner last night. I had the Lamb dish and my husband had a NY Strip. Everything was amazing, the food was top tier and a perfect meal after traveling all day. Our server was on point and friendly. Leaving a review so we don’t forget to come back!

We absolutely love this place!! Friendly service, excellent mixologists, amazing food, good sized portions, and fantastic atmosphere!
We’ve been here twice and have love absolutely everything. The Carrots are a particular favorite but everything has been perfectly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot for a special occasion but we’re planning on checking out the happy hour sometime soon as well.

First time here and it was a good experience to try! We made reservations for an anniversary dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive for the most part. We both ordered cocktail drinks and one of our drinks was truly disgusting (Tiki drink) as it tasted overwhelmingly vanilla-y. The other drink was good! We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer as everyone raves about them – they were OK. They were crispy but it was two small crab cakes for $20. In my opinion, there should’ve been 4 small crab cakes for that price. We ordered scallops ($50), salmon ($34), and truffle fries ($8?) for our entrees. The entrees were pretty good, not amazing! Felt like things needed more seasoning. The truffle fries and aioli were definitely a highlight. I do think this place is extremely overpriced and they try to give the ~bougie~ expensive vibe, but they missed the mark. Our server forgot to give us boxes & bag for our leftovers until we started to leave. I do think there are better steakhouses in Missoula (Lolo steakhouse for sure). I will add, we did not order Steaks here because I have heard from several friends that they are okay and again, overpriced. Overall a decent date night to try this place one time and see the hype!

Can’t recommend this place more, we love coming here. Great atmosphere, you can dress up or just come in regular clothes doesn’t matter. Their food is always great but their bone marrow & Brussel sprouts are the best in town!
And if you have room get their truffle fries l, they are excellent!

Went there on February 15th 2026. Service was mid, food was bad. The Filet mignon was the only good thing I had that night of my $307 tab. Got the crabcakes and bread service for starters, bread service was cold and stale with about a tablespoon of butter for all the bread and the crab cakes tasted like those fish nuggets we all used to get in grade school. Main dish was a filet mignon and a ribeye, both with mashed potatoes, ribeye had scallops and mignon had carrots. Like I said the mignon was delicious but my ribeye was burned to a crisp on the fatty side and the scallops were undercooked by a lot. Desert was acceptable but it was just eggy flan, not really what you want for a creme brulee. Overall this place is not worth your money and it took almost 3 hours to have a full meal because the plates took so long to come out.
