The food is good and vibe is somewhat modern.
We shared the sliders and flatbread. Both were excellent and plenty to make a meal of.
Service we received was inattentive, but others were getting great service.
I was greatly ignored especially when seated in a spot directly with the sun in my face. I tolerated it but it really got irritating when our server figured it out when I was done eating and then pulled a shade. It seemed like sun hitting this spot would happen everyday and should have been something they watched for and pulled the blind everyday. Again felt like we were ignored. Maybe she was blinded by the light?
We finished with the cheesecake and chocolate pot. Honestly thought they were not great and over priced. Cheesecake seemed to be more of a cake than cheesecake and flavor was off almost.
The chocolate pot was chocolate with dried crunch bread slivers. Just seemed like nothing special.
Overall, was not a horrible experience so I’ll rate at 4 stars. It i was in a more cranky mood it would be much less.
But, I’ve tried to look past the sun and server.

AH-mazing! Kate was a lovely host and kept us company at the bar. Fantastic and creative drinks…fresh and eclectic food… we had the Brussels (out of if this world), the grilled feta ang the corn dogs. Don’t miss this place if you’re staying or even passing through Gunnison!

I’ve been here twice in the past week since I’ve found out about this place! As with any restaurant in this valley – patience is key. They are new and are doing their best but any sort of wait is absolutely worth it (so smile, be kind and thank your servers)!! The tapas, salads and larger bites are fabulous and the cocktails are delicious!!! Huge fan of the seafood options with plenty of fresh, delicious flavor in every bite. Try the cheesecake as well, you won’t be disappointed. Staff is friendly and kind, the atmosphere is polished and laid back. Make sure to come here ready to enjoy a fabulous meal!

What a wonderful new addition to the dining options in Gunnison! Fantastic specialty drinks with a great wine and tequila selection. My recommendation is to share the tapas style plates with your group. Save room for dessert because their banana pudding is nothing short of addictive. This may be my new date night favorite!

July ’23 – we’ve been looking forward to another visit since last year and 1880 is even better than we remembered. The 4 of us ordered most of the menu – shishitos, chicken sliders, flatbread, jumbo shrimp, red sangria, bacon wrapped dates, salad, fried bread pudding and more. Wow!! Great staff, great atmosphere and we ready to go again! July ’22 visit – We were so engrossed in our meal that only dessert made it into a photo! Started with the radicchio salad which set the stage for a meal of unique offerings including bacon wrapped dates with paprika honey sauce (OMG! ordered twice!), drunken pork, empanada, and a variation on the pasta plate the chef kindly altered for m’lady’s dietary needs. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was super! Looking forward to our next visit!

I had the BEST dinner at 1880!! If you want to get adventurous try their octopus dishes, mouthwatering. The drunken pork and grilled corn Kate and Pat have raised the bar when it comes to dining and libations in the Gunnison valley. I’m a regular now!

Friendly and attentive staff. Ordered multiple dishes and drinks. Fabulous cocktail menu. Unique and delicious beer/cider offerings. Jammin’ music selection. Expansive wine menu – pairs well with menu options. 1880 is a welcomed addition to the Gunnison food scene and I’m looking forward to my next visit. Keep the vibe going!

Get the Toro burger. Get the toro burger get the toro burger !! Genuinely maybe the best burger I’ve ever had. The manchego cheese is the most perfect pairing with the smash burger. The shredded iceberg makes it reminiscent of the boujeeiest Big Mac (in a good way). The crisp on the outter ring of the bun sent it over the top. Oh and their tapas are incredible, patatas bravas is always my go to!

A must visit. Pat and Kate have created such an amazing dining experience. The food is wonderful with so many fresh, local ingredients. The drinks and desserts are a must! Perfect spot for a date night or girls night out. You won’t be disappointed!
