Kristine K. provided absolutely incredible service! She was attentive, thoughtful and extremely kind. She asked if we would like a photo taken and it was so great to have that memory captured. She also knows the menu like the back of her hand and gave fabulous recommendations. The food was great as well, but we would truly come back for the amazing service Kristine K. provided.

Server was great, but she had the entire floor and kitchen took 4…ever! There were two wedding parties before us, on a Thursday night. We waited one hour for a salad and another 30 min for chilled shrimp, TWO raw veggie skewers (entrée?!), cold raw Brussel sprouts, and a warm piece of salmon. For the life of me, I don’t know what we were “waiting” so long for. See pics if you think I’m just a big city complainer.
The Salmon was amazing! Honey crusted, subdued fish flavor, really excellent.
Brussel sprouts – dang, if they were cooked two more minutes and came out hot, these would have been phenomenal! But they were raw and cool.
Veggie skewers – really? Two raw, too raw, not seasoned, and cold. If the delicate tomatoes is your judge of “cooked”… the Zucchini isn’t done! $26?!?!
Shrimp cocktail – good. This, as a warm dish, would be excellent! But I know what cocktail implies. The sauce was good.

What a great meal. Kristine was awesome. The food was fantastic. The best walleye we ever had. The pork chop was outstanding. Love the environment and with Kristine and Ajit you can’t go wrong. Chef Erik prepared everything perfect.

A Wonderful Dining Experience at 1878 on the Lake – Lake Lawn Resort
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at 1878 on the Lake during our stay at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI. The restaurant itself is gorgeous — warm, inviting, and perfectly situated with a stunning view of the lake. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, and the overall atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening.
Our bartender, Bree, was truly exceptional. She was professional, personable, and impressively knowledgeable — every question we asked was met with a thoughtful and detailed answer. As a former bartender myself, I tend to be pretty particular, but Bree exceeded every expectation. She made our time at the bar feel personal and elevated, and she clearly takes pride in what she does.
Our server was also very pleasant and attentive. While it seemed the restaurant might be transitioning into a busier season, any small hiccups were quickly outweighed by the quality of the service, the presentation, and the overall experience.
If you haven’t been to 1878 on the Lake or Lake Lawn Resort, I highly recommend it! Between the exceptional service, the breathtaking views, and the outstanding cuisine, this is a place we’ll absolutely be returning to — and next time, we’ll be asking for Bree!

Our server, Kristine K, was exceptionally outstanding! My husband and I came in close to closing time, and Kristine kindly welcomed us and took amazing care of us. Even though she was starting her end-of-shift routine, she assured us it was no problem at all. Honestly, if it weren’t for how warm and welcoming she was, we probably would’ve gone elsewhere — but we’re so glad we didn’t! The food and service were both excellent. Kristine made our anniversary dinner truly special, and we left feeling extremely pleased. She’s an absolute gem and a wonderful representation of great hospitality!

This place was so cute and Kristine was such a joy. We took advantage of there igloo dinner and the special. I personally would’ve enjoyed more seasoning on the fish and less grilling. The fish top was a little difficult but overall the food was great! I will definitely return when we come back.
