The Entire Space Is Well-Kept, Clean, & Truly Admiring. Even The Bathrooms Were So Pretty, Definitely Thoughtfully Designed.
Parking Is Nearby With Plenty Of Storefront Options Around The Area, So It Was Easy To Find A Spot.
BRUNCH BUFFET (Served Until 5 PM)
We Came For Lunch On A Saturday Afternoon & Enjoyed The Brunch Buffet & When I Say Huge Selection, I Mean Huge.
Buffet Items Included: ( )
Baked Mac & Cheese, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Whiting Fish, Shrimp, Pancakes, Waffles, Rice, Wings, French Toast, Potatoes, & So Much More.
But That’s Not Even The Best Part….
They Also Bring Out Endless (Upon Request):
Crab Legs, Salmon Cakes, Mussels, Fresh Fruit, & Made-To-Order Omelettes. On Top Of That, You Get Unlimited Fountain Drinks, Mimosas, & Juices.
It’s Between $75–$100 Per Person With Unlimited Seafood, Made-To-Order Options, & Drinks (Excluding Cocktails/Shots), It Felt So Worth It. There’s Also A Service Fee Added So Don’t Be Surprised, Honestly That Fee Is Starting To Seem Standard In DC Restaurants.
The Food Was Delicious With So Much Variety. Everything Felt Fresh & Well-Seasoned. You Definitely Get Your Money’s Worth.
**There’s A 90-Minute Seating Limit, Which Was More Than Enough Time To Eat Comfortably And Enjoy The Ambience.
There Was A Live Band Playing, An Area To Dance, Multiple Bars, & Plenty Of Seating. The Music Was Loud In A Good Way A Whole Vibe. We Were Seated In A Section That Was Less Crowded, Which Was Perfect For Me. There’s Also An Upstairs Area I’ll Have To Check Out Next Time.
Our Waiters Were Amazing & Pleasant. Even With The Place Being Busy, They Checked On Us Consistently. I Loved How They Kept Bringing Us Crablegs As We Requested. :))
A Special Shoutout To Khave’, The Owner/Chef’s Son. He Personally Came To Our Table, Introduced Himself, & Made Sure We Were Good. He Accommodated Us Gracefully & Was So Pleasant To Talk To. That Personal Touch Made The Experience Even More Memorable. I Truly Appreciate His Convo & For Going Above & Beyond For Us.
This New Spot Is More Than Just A Restaurant, It’s A Celebration Of Culture, Food, & Community. Beautiful Space, Delicious Food, Live Music, Amazing Service.
Definitely Highly Recommended To Come Out & Support. We Will Absolutely Be Back Soon.
The atmosphere is classy, grown, and perfect for celebrations. From the moment we were seated, everything felt intentional and top-tier. But let me be very clear ask for Nae. Her drinks are AMAZING (crafted perfectly, flavorful, and strong in the best way), and her customer service is unmatched. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our entire experience felt special. Truly one of those people who elevates the whole night.
If you’re looking for a place with great vibes, excellent service, and a staff that genuinely cares about your experience, 1865 Steak & Cigar is it. I’ll definitely be back and I’ll be asking for Nae every time
Their Caesar Salad, Chicken Wings (Mumbo + Honey Garlic) and French fries are to die for. Not a crumb left!
And on top of that, their staff were the most kind & helpful human beings; we truly & graciously appreciate everything ya’ll did for us.
Thank you again to 1865 DC and looking forward to dining there again!
The vibe was cool. Service moved a little slow at times, but everyone was kind and welcoming. The aesthetic looked like what every spot in DC is going for lately, but this one had a warmer and more homely feel that I cannot quite explain. Almost like modern chic with comfort auntie energy tucked in the corners.
Now for the food.
I ordered the oxtail and grits. The oxtail was tender and cooked well, but the dish overall tasted like stewed oxtail placed over very salty grits. Not terrible, just not my palate’s type of champagne. I can see how it might hit for the demographic they cater to because it was seasoned heavily and confidently. For me, it was a little much, but I will not knock what someone else may love.
Started with a margarita, which was tasty and balanced. Then the bartender slid me a mystery drink. I cannot tell you what it was, but I can tell you the pour was generous and worth the coin. They do not cheat you on the liquor.
Overall, I am giving 1865 a solid 6.5. Nice people, decent drinks, cool vibe, and food that has potential depending on your taste preferences. Not bad, not great, just respectfully somewhere in the middle.
If you are in the area, it is worth a try. Just know your taste buds may or may not clock in for the shift.
Tell them Doc is keeping it real as always.
