The food is not good. The atmosphere is nice, the service is fine, and the drinks are generous. Unless you are staying at the hotel and don’t have options, do not eat here.

Coworkers and I were at the hotel for an event – we stayed at the hotel and decided against going out just by simply seeing the 1863 bar at the hotel. It is aesthetically pleasing and just the right environment in Gettysburg. It’s not often that you have a great experience at a hotel bar but you cannot say that about 1863. We had the opportunity to be served by Tanya. She was absolutely amazing.

Good food, but extremely expensive. Horrible service based on two encounters. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Absolutely do not go out of your way to go here. And if you’re staying at the Wyndham, you would be best served by driving somewhere else.

Stopped here at 1pm, had the place to ourselves! Very elegant carefully plated dishes. Atmosphere is still very casual. Crab lunch entree cake was great. We loved the solitude but they deserve more traffic from non-hotel patrons. Service was so polite.

This is a very nice place. That being said, our experience was not as good as we would have liked. I made a reservation a week ahead of time. When we got there, there was no reservation. Fortunately they were able to seat us. I believe there was a large group in another area. We were told the kitchen was a little backed up. Understandable. We both ordered the steak cooked the same way. Unfortunately we got our steaks cooked completely different. I would go back perhaps at a quieter time.

The dinner service was pretty slow (one night we even had to go somewhere else), but the night we had dinner, the burger was pretty good and the bruschetta and flat bread were excellent, while the calimari was just okay. The breakfast buffet was good but not great. Overall a reasonably good hotel restaurant.

During our 2 night stay, we decided to try the restaurant. I was hesitant because in my experience, hotel restaurant food is usually limited menu, overpriced and mediocre quality at best. BUT my husband and I both had the 8oz Filet and they were cooked to perfection and FULL of flavor! The asparagus and carrots grilled beautifully and the mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. Well worth the money, I highly recommend this restaurant.
