First time for us at this Aurora resort property and we just walked around before dinner. Another hidden gem on the Finger Lakes. Toured the spa and it looks amazing.
For dinner we walked down to the 1833 Kitchen and Bar which is situated lake side. On the upper patio there is a good view of the lake, but several trees that prevent a total sunset view. The patio also has several heaters as the fall chill is beginning to set in.
The menu is not extensive but what we tried was delicious. Several Gluten Free options and even Gluten Free bread was served with a high end virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The regular option is a brioche bread with a tomato paste dip was also very tasty.
They have an extensive wine list ranging from the affordable all the way up to a $1600 bottle of red. Our local favorite from the Hermann Wiemer winery on Seneca Lake was also represented. They also had a good selection of beers.
We started by sharing the frites and a garden salad which a perfect beginning. For our main we had the pork chop and short ribs. Both were beautifully prepared and excellent tasting.
We did not need desert, so honestly did not even check what was available.
The servers were attentive and the food came out with perfect timing.
We just found a new favorite place and can’t wait to bring friends and family here in the future. This is a winner. You will not be disappointed.

When we arrived for our reservation there was a sign at the desk saying the server would be right back to seat us. We waited almost 20 minutes for someone – the lined backed up and people behind us were even asking the inn desk if anyone was working at the hostess stand to which they replied “they should be with you at any minute” and we continued waiting.
Once we were seated things went smooth. Food was good but not deserving of 5 stars in my opinion. Chicken although flavorful, it was dry. The French toast had an odd flavor that I couldn’t place my finger on and definitely wasn’t listed on the menu, maybe a batter seasoning? Fries were the best thing in my opinion that I tried. My guests enjoyed their dishes.

We stayed at one of the inns up the street, we had dinner here and sat out on the patio. The view of the lake was beautiful.
Food and service excellent.
It was a little cool out so the hostess turned on the heaters we didn’t even ask.
We also had breakfast here twice and the same great service.
The grounds are well kept and there is an area by the water with chairs to sit and enjoy the sun set

Having visited countless properties, wineries, and restaurants in the Finger Lakes, this restaurant truly stood out. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt genuinely welcomed—an experience that is not always guaranteed. The ambiance and the view from the patio at sunset made for an unforgettable evening. However, what truly set this place apart was the exceptional hospitality of Amanda and her team. They remembered my name, and several staff members inquired about my day of winery tours, adding a personal touch to my visit. I will undoubtedly plan to stay here during my next trip to the area. And while the food was excellent, it was the thoughtful service that made all the difference.

This is more of a long-term review. Having eaten here for years, it’s just not the same anymore. Perhaps more attention is just being given to the spa, but it just send like they didn’t care about the restaurant anymore. The service is no longer acceptable. The staff can’t remember to refill beverages, bring condiments, check on the tables, etc. The last time we are there for brunch there were hardly any tables, but I still had to refill my own water and go on a quest for coffee. They’ve also done this weird performative thing for a while where they want to know all the guest names, but I would just rather have competent service and drop the whole pretense of individualized care. They’ll all why your there even though you’ve already written it in the note. It’s weird. The food has also declined dramatically, especially for the price. Still the prettiest place to eat on this lake, but I’m done with them.

I had breakfast and dinner here when I was staying at The Inn. The ambiance is decadent and the service is top notch. Amanda is the bees knees.
The food is nice but not amazing. The breakfast potatoes are too salty and the rest of the food is a bit bland.

Wonderful experience. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had the four course with wine pairing and man the pairing was on point! Delicious food! Loved everything (except for the risotto, it wasn’t bad but it was not delicious like everything else was). DEFINITELY coming back.
(We did have to wait a few to be seated which was weird being that we had a reservation, no one was there to greet us. Was a little off putting but the rest of our experience was wonderful)

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. We recently visited, and the menu had completely changed. The food was amazing, staff is always super friendly, set on the water lovely atmosphere. Best seats are outside. Try everything!

An exceptional experience. If you are not staying in Aurora, this restaurant is worth every mile driven to reach it. An outstanding multicourse prix fixe menu (available with wine pairings) and an outstanding wine program featuring a long list of wines by the glass. The culinary skills were matched in by a very attentive front of house team. A warm welcome, menu orientation, flawless delivery of drinks and courses, all at an unrushed cadence. As OpenTable diners we appreciated the ability to book in advance and communicate with the hosts. 1833 Kitchen and Bar has landed on our “consider this” list when booking a stay in the Finger Lakes. Well done. Footnote, I wish I had taken more photos of the food and restaurant environment, yet the absence of those indicates where our attention was placed.

My husband and I went there for our 1 year anniversary. All of the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the rocket soup for the first course. I don’t remember our waiters name, but he was very knowledgeable about the wine pairing. We sat outside and it was beautiful! The waiter even got some great pictures of us with the Sunset.
