Fabulous!!! I did not expect to find an establishment of such lofty caliber in central Florida, the home of horses and BBQ. I have reviewed hundreds of restaurants. The flavors I experienced at 18 South were among the very best from around the world. The elk I ordered rolled over my tongue with the texture and taste of pure pleasure. My wife’s filet mignon was more flavorful than the best aged chuletón steaks from the Basque or any hand cut Patagonian beef. My brother’s Chilean sea bass was the best he had ever tasted. The atmosphere of this distinguished third floor eatery is reminiscent of Great Gatsby like opulence. Despite 18 South’s high end appearance the staff displayed no evidence of pretentiousness. We were invited in by the hostess after standing nearby for hours to watch the “Light Up Ocala” festivities, in our casual wear. This is now our go-to restaurant in Ocala.

Went to 18 South for a “dress up a bit” dinner and it felt like a real special-occasion spot. The room is classy and calm, and the service is the kind where they actually pay attention to timing and details. We did cocktails first, then ordered a mix of seafood and steak. Everything was plated nicely and tasted rich and fresh. A couple things took a little longer than expected, but nothing crazy. It’s not an everyday place, but for a date night or celebration, it hits.

Service with Austin was 11/10. It was our first night here and we will gladly be back! I had the filet and my husband had the lobster roll and loaded mash. Both entrees were outstanding! Love the atmosphere, as well. Great experience all around!

We had a party of 4, reserved a spot just hours prior on a Friday night which was a pleasant surprise. Our servers Bennett and Brooke were amazingly attentive and offered great wine and drink paring options.
The bread service was fantastic. We all ordered different entrees, shared and compared. We decided on the grouper dish , the sea bass, the rib eye and venison, potatoes, and mushrooms. Everything was phenomenal and even though we had no more room, we shared two deserts… the chocolate espresso lava cake and a parfait (I think) with fruit marinated in Grand Marnier …. To die for. We were even entertained by an impromptu song and piano solo by server and upcoming artist Bennett!
Best of all was the visit from the main Chef Dan himself… to check in on us to see how our experience went and he humbly asked for opportunities for improvement .
Wow… it was an incredible dining experience. Wear loose waistband clothes because you’ll want room to eat and eat! Bravo!!! Love it!

Our group of 6 went to 18 South for the first time. The hostess greeted us at the door and escorted us to the dining room. That was a nice surprise. The Craig, the manager, met us. Our table was already set up and we were quickly seated. The food was amazing. We loved everything. We also got the carrot cake which is incredible. We will be back again.

Hidden gem down in the square. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our server Bennett was attentive and helped make a great friends birthday even more memorable. Our drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all delicious! Exceeded my expectations after researching finer dining establishments in Ocala. The ground level sports bar will be great to check out as well. 18 South has a more upscale atmosphere that is perfect for a personable fine dining experience with delicious food and impeccable service. I just flew in from New York after being away for six months, and as always, 18 South did not disappoint. They’ve refreshed their menu, and I was pleasantly surprised by the new protein options and specials.
We ordered the 18S Dinner for Two — a perfectly cooked ribeye and filet, accompanied by two prawns, two fresh salads, and two house-made sides. Everything was prepared beautifully, and the portions were just right. Pairing it with selections from their great wine menu made the evening even better.
The atmosphere is warm and special, the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome and taken care of. The service was attentive and genuine, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
18 South is consistently one of my favorite spots in Ocala — it always feels like a treat to be here. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went here for our birthday. We originally popped in for a drink but after talking with Kris decided to try some oysters. The menu is amazing, drinks and food, and we will definitely be going back. The staff was polite accommodating and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is calm and makes for a great date night.

First time at 18 South on Saturday 1/18. My girlfriend had her birthday dinner there. The theme was browns, bows and martinis. Cute, right? Very nice place!!! Kind of fancy from looking at the menu. Items are a la cart. Love the digital menu. Prices are prices. You pay a lot for good quality food. Our server was AMAZING!!!! I cannot remember her name but she was so sweet and took a picture with me. Look for her!!!! She is pleasant , kind, thorough and attentive! Just awesome!!! Let me just say the bread was incredible!!!! Literally melts in your mouth!!! I ordered the crab cakes and some kind of potatoes with cheese. DELICIOUS!!!! The potatoes were so hot you could see the steam which is a plus for me! I think the top of my potatoes were overdone but I didn’t judge. One forkful and I was hooked. The crab cakes were excellent!!! Could have been hotter but that didn’t stop me from eating them Everyone ordered different items from the menu and all were happy with their dinner. Great place for a birthday dinner, romantic date, anniversary or even a girls night out! The ladies loved their drinks from martini expressos to dry martinis. Go check them out! Might be worth it to you!
