I had the lobster bisque with a side of oysters to start. Bisque was rich and full bodied with lovely monkfish and sole tortellini. Oysters were very fresh and creamy on the side with a nicely prepared mignonette. The roast beetroot salad and cheese soufflé were also much enjoyed at the table. For mains I had the venison loin which was served with mushroom, celeriac and quince. Although I wasn’t a fan of the mushrooms the rest was lovely and the warm quince fruit was a nice surprise. All the desserts sounded amazing but in the end we went with the warm chocolate mousse and the creme caramel. The mousse was rich and velvety, served with a lovely scoop of ice cream. The creme caramel had poached autumn fruits on the side and paired nicely with a glass of the clos l’abeilley sauternes dessert wine. The restaurant was very clean and had a lovely intimate ambiance perfect for the evening. Staff were lovely and provided a great service, although there didn’t seem to be enough on for how busy the restaurant was. Will definitely be back to try out some other dishes

I dined here in a private room as part of a business event.
Food from The Bridge five-course menu £48 was good, but not exceptional. We also paid for wine and an arrival drink. Total per person was £75.
Service by the sole waitress assigned was charming, friendly and as efficient as possible but slow between courses as she was clearly having to wait other tables in the main restaurant too and was hard-pressed.
Overall, the experience was disappointing given the restaurant’s reputation and the hotel’s rating.
The ambience of the room was ok – with large 18th Century-style portraits.
Parking nearby is free on-street but limited, there may be parking for guests on the Old Course side. Nearby is the large free Petherham Bridge car park.

We were staying here and went up for a few drinks in the evening. The view of The Old Course was exceptional from the balcony and there was even putting green to test out my skills a few drinks deep!

The drinks were well made and the bartender was very attentive and polite which created a lovely atmosphere the whole time we were there. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to try the food here, but the restaurant looked lovely.

Would definitely recommend if you have the chance!

We had an incredible dinner for 5 people last night. Service – the sommelier, and waitress staff were outstanding – attentive, friendly, and gave us plenty time to chat, and then review the menu.
Food was colourful, multiple flavours, unique and well presented.
I had the beetroot starter, followed by the Shetland cod, and we shared a chocolate ice cream with olive oil ice cream. The best meal, I have had in a long time!
I particularly liked the fish – as the Arbroath smokie sauce, and fennel was magnificent.
The wine paired was outstanding – particularly the white with my fish.
Highly recommend and will be back again. Thank you 18 team.

We paid £218 tonight for dinner and to be honest this is way overpriced for what we received.

Bread & olives – they do the job
Wine – nice
Steaks – fillet not worth near the £55
Sauce – not even flavour
Sides – very poor selection of sides to accompany the steak. We ordered creamed spinach, nothing exciting & wouldn’t re-order. Side salad was basically huge leafs – who wants a plate full of massive leafs?

Definitely not worth the price & there was a £20 service charge added on. Service doesn’t match the charge.

We had an incredible evening at 18, and while the views of St. Andrews are hard to beat, it was Alexia’s service that truly made the night. She was attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and had a warmth that made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find service this seamless—she is a massive asset to the team. If you’re dining here, definitely hope to be seated in her section
