Thank you for choosing our small family restaurant, nestled on 16th Avenue in the charming northeast of the city. With years of experience in the industry, we have become known as a cozy and delightful eatery where you can savor authentic home-cooked meals from the southern United States.
But we don’t stop there. We are excited to announce that we’re taking a journey further south to bring you a tantalizing taste of Latin cuisine, with a special focus on mouthwatering Mexican dishes. We’re thrilled to expand our menu and share these traditional and flavorful delights with you.
To all our loyal and cherished customers who have been with us on this incredible journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

Frozen food but we waited as if it was fresh. After waiting an hour I was thinking this must be some really good food. I will say that the grits and eggs were decent but that was short lived because it was swimming in some kind of liquid. However, the fish and country fried steak are frozen items and tasted horrible. The staff member who waited on us was friendly. That is all.

Super friendly staff, really friendly and neighborhood vibe to the restaurant, and best of all: amazing food for a decent price!!
Recommend the corn beef and has and french toast. Also the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had, you won’t regret them if you order it.

Definitely come here over waffle house if you’re in Gainesville!
I’ve been coming here for a while now, it’s a nice family run diner, servers are very friendly, food is very good, and price is good for what you get-food that costs $30 at waffle house will cost $17-$20 here-highly recommend going for cost, value, and friendly environment. As well as supporting a small business.
Only downside is they’re only open for breakfast and lunch and not 24 hours 🙁
Though I understand why, it’s still unfortunate as I would come here a lot at late night if they were open then-but I highly recommend everybody in Gainesville craving any breakfast food come here-it’s better than any of the chain diners in the area.

I’m reluctant to post this review, as this may be one of the best kept secrets for breakfast & lunch in Gville. IMO they have the best biscuit & gravy in town, and add eggs over-easy on top. Wonderful family owned spot & team.

The food at 16th Avenue Diner was outstanding, fresh, tasty, and comforting in all the right ways. The service made us feel like family, warm and genuine from start to finish. My family ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwich, French toast and the grits bowl. Every item was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect ending to a great trip with friends. We can’t wait to return next time we are in town! Highly recommend!

I’d give them 10 stars for the amazing, friendly service and the BEST biscuits anywhere! The HUGE omelets were phenomenal and just the old school diner vibe is so much fun. Can’t say enough about this place. Did I mention the great service??

Great little diner!…very friendly and attentive staff, unique menu items. Had grilled chicken and eggs $13 burrito $12 and a side of nettles sausage $4, with a “special choco milk” $3. The bacon was crisp and the biscuit was fluffy and light. Sat at the counter, fun to watch the team!

I was told by a local to try this place, glad I did and I will return. Outside well it’s in an older group of stores but do NOT let that stop you from enjoying this place. The menu has a large variety for both breakfast and lunch, staff were professional and friendly! The service was fast, and I was checked on several times to provide coffee and see if my food was to my taste …it was ! I sat at the counter as I was solo and it is a small location. I enjoyed my food even though I didn’t get a photo …sorry …I had a egg, cheese and bacon breakfast sandwich….only 6.99
Eggs were cooked perfectly and bacon was plentiful and complimented by a nice piece of cheese on top of the egg. I was watching the food items going out and knew I would be returning…biscuits large and fluffy fresh out the oven came by and I did a double take! I am delighted I have a new local place to visit and have a good meal. I can see this place expanding and being very successful!!!
