1609 takes its name from the year that the Sea Venture shipwrecked on Bermuda’s shores and the first colony was born. We celebrate that sea-going spirit in our menu, which stars fresh local catch prepared in a fusion of island and Latin flavours. Enjoy fresh and vibrant ceviche, golden fried shrimp, a wide selection of tacos, flatbreads and much more.

Food is very tasty and well presented. Lots of options to choose from if you want to share plates as a group or get something for yourself.
Service was great but the real star of 1609 is the view. Nestled above the harbour the views are excellent whether watching the sunset or a storm roll in.
Once done, make sure to check out the artwork in the Hamilton Princess!

Was here for our group dinner. It has an excellent harbour view, and great for capturing the sunset! Food is good, with fresh seafood available. Great service as well. Good for most group sizes

Food is just about average. Too much cheese and not much of anything else in the quesadillas. Some dark/black leaves in the salad (these should have been removed).
Service was acceptable, although nobody asked if the food was okay etc. If asked, I would have told them.

We arrived at 1609 Bar on a Sunday evening, only to find every table booked. Luckily, we discovered the Burger Bar tucked just below the main restaurant—and it turned out to be a hidden gem.
We grabbed seats around the fire pit, which set an inviting, laid-back vibe. Service was exceptional from the moment we sat down: attentive, friendly, and prompt without feeling rushed.
Both my colleague and I ordered the double-patty smash burgers, and they were outstanding—juicy, perfectly seared, and surprisingly substantial. Honestly, I was tempted to order a second despite how filling it was. The price is on the higher end, but the quality justifies every bite. The accompanying fries were crisp and well-seasoned, and our cocktails were mixed flawlessly.
If you can’t snag a table upstairs, the Burger Bar is a fantastic alternative—same great waterfront atmosphere, excellent food, and stellar service. We’ll be returning to the main restaurant tomorrow and will update with round two, but for now, the Burger Bar has already set a high bar. Highly recommended.

Dinner and cocktails at 1609 was great! The food and drinks were so good. The views are amazing. Oleana our waitress was great. She was so kind, personable, and helpful with the menu. Can’t wait to go back on our next visit.

My husband and I got dinner at 1609 and it was amazing. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. We didn’t have reservations, but I would recommend them. Our server was Olga and she was absolutely amazing!! She was so sweet, had great recommendations, and was very attentive. We had the guacamole, wahoo ceviche, sea bass, and tuna. The espresso martinis were really good too!

Honestly the best food we had on the island, it’s a fusion with Mexican influences. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. The food was sooo good and well flavored (so far has lacked throughout the island). We ordered the guacamole, with watermelon as perfect pair, the veggie empanada had the perfect crisp with a cheesy veggie interior. My husband had the Mexican burger with rice instead of fries. I had the batata bravas also very good! For dessert we had the cinnamon basque cake, that had this wonderful sauce on the side. sunsets should be incredible, we missed it by a few. The breeze was perfect and the vibe was nice. Ample seating and parking. Many vegan vegetarian options on the menu

Amazing meal with every dish being delicious and offering great flavors. It is on the pricy side, but it’s not just a great restaurant for Hamilton or Bermuda, but is simply one of the better restaurants you will find anywhere.
The only thing that I felt a bit aggrieved by was that they offered still or sparkling water without telling us that there was a charge of $9 (before service charges) per bottle and didn’t offer us just regular tap water, which would have been the preferred option. I know a lot of restaurants like to do that, but they really need to STOP.

Pricier than most places (even for Bermuda!) but you really get what you pay for – the food was sublime, the service impeccable, and the views glorious. We had the burger which was one of the best I’ve had and the house chips were fantastic. We also had fish tacos which were also very nice. Not sure what it would be like in peak season but our experience in November was 5 star. Make sure to ask specifically for tap water over the bottled still or sparkling they offer though!
