delicious, atmospheric, decent service even during the rush of a friday night! I would definitely visit again!! we got the partridge in a pear tree coctail & the nutcracker nightcap, both amazing holiday drinks – yum! the truffle fries were good, we got the parm on the side because of my dairy allergy & they were very accommodating to my vegan diet! we got the brussel sprouts as we’ll, yummy crispy goodness! AND they did something special for us which was let us order the vegan shitake mushroom pasta at 143 Social when usually it’s only a dish served at Better Days upstairs. I really appreciated the service and the aesthetic of the bar was soooooo cute!!

This place is for people who appreciate the finer things in food and drinks. The decor is vibrant and elegant. I was really looking forward to Valentine’s Day here with my boyfriend, but unfortunately the experience fell incredibly short. There were only four staff members working (one bartender, one bar back, and two men who I couldn’t even tell you if one of them was supposed to be the hostess and the other a waiter), but it seemed as though everyone was doing multiple different jobs. We waited an incredibly long time, not just for drinks, but even to have our water glasses refilled. At one point, I had to get up and ask the bar to refill my water myself after noticing our waiter helping himself to a drink after I had asked him. The two men (supposed hostess and waiter), did a particularly poor job. We weren’t asked once how everything was, and overall the service was incredibly inattentive and disorganized. The food was good, which makes it even more disappointing that the service overshadowed it. The couple next to us shared the same frustrations, and we even watched another couple get up and head toward the door, only to end up paying for their meal standing there because no one came to bring their check, and another couple questioned why they weren’t seated after waiting quite some time when they were told they would be, but someone else was sat before them. It was just a poorly run night on what was supposed to be a special occasion.The only positive of this place was Brian, who I assume was supposed to be the bar back. He was extremely apologetic and seemed to be the only one genuinely trying to hold things together. I hope he finds himself somewhere better so we can run into him again, he deserves it. Thank you Brian for being the only upside to this place for us. Overall, we were really let down, along with many others from what we could see.

Nice cozy speak easy like bar and restaurant. They have a holiday menu which had several unique options. I got the pear drink, it was the perfect balance of sweet and spice. My husband got the espresso martini and my sister got what they have similar to a lemon drop martini. The food was also very good. My husband and my sister shared the chicken bites and thoroughly enjoyed it they said it was nice and soft on the inside with a perfect crispy layer on the outside. We also got the truffle fries for the table honestly it’s a huge plate of fries. The service was great as well. The ambiance was nice with warm moody lighting.

Nice speakeasy under the eatery right in the square of Jersey city. The vibes were chic and sophisticated and the music was something you could listen to for hours. The prices for the appetizers were a bit on the pricey side but the drinks made up for it. If you want to meet up somewhere for a quick drink for a girls night or date night I would come here.

Visited this speakeasy for the first time this past August and it’s become my top 3 weekend spots. Most bars in DTJC have the same nightlife crowd and vibe. Me and my boys like to get away down here and have a good drink and apps. Menu may be pricey compared to the other spots around but that’s a give in for the quality. The head bartender Melina always acknowledges when we come in and never disappoints with her drinks. If you want to have a good drink that’s not Tito’s soda and good food go visit Melina at 143!

143 Social Bar has such a good vibe — chill but lively, with great music and a crowd that actually feels friendly. Ana, the manager/director , keeps everything running smooth and always makes sure everyone’s taken care of. You can tell she really cares about the place and her team.
Melina, the head bartender, is awesome. She’s fast, knows her drinks, and has a great personality that makes the bar feel alive. Every cocktail she made was on point.
Overall, 143 Social Bar is one of those places where the staff and atmosphere make you want to come back again and again. Definitely worth checking out!

Very cute speakeasy bar with great atmosphere in Jersey city. Went here for some drinks and a quick snack. My favorite drink was number 23, it had a “fall margarita” flavor. The appetizers were tasty but small and it’s hard to fit them in the table but overall it was a great experience.

We had a reservation on a Friday night, when we arrived, the host was enjoying a cocktail totally unbothered at the hostess stand, very unprofessional. The group standing in line ahead of us left which should have been a sign. The host was busy chatting with guests at the bar while drinking himself instead of seating us right away, There was only one waiter on staff for the hold space, we weren’t offered water until 15 mins waiting at the table. We ended up going upstairs for dinner and drinks instead for faster service, the menu was pretty similar anyway. I wouldn’t recommend this place, it had so much potential.
