Reviews
Nothing pretentious and does what it says on the label. Sat at the bar and enjoyed great service and a couple of local beers whilst listening to a great music mix watching the world go by through the open windows.
My kind of place and will definitely return later in the day next time as I’m sure it attracts a lot more local characters .
Loved the 3 or so hours I spent here!!
12 Volt Tavern is a dive bar, and it is proud of it—like a dad showing off a dented truck that “still runs just fine.”
Walking in feels like entering a time portal where modern responsibilities evaporate. Your first step inside delivers a crisp whiff of spilled beer, jukebox wisdom, and a hint of “was that neon sign plugged in during the Reagan administration?” Yes. It was. And it’s still glowing. Dimly. But glowing.
The lighting is perfect if you like to have just enough visibility to recognize your friends but not enough to confirm whether you should have worn a clean shirt.
The bartenders?
Professionals.
Not the kind who garnish drinks with citrus foam—no.
They garnish drinks with sarcasm, bad life advice, and the exact amount of liquor your emotional state requires.
When I paid, she kept my change without asking, turned around, and walked off to continue flirting. No tip was earned, but she took one anyway. After being ignored again, it was obvious that getting my change back was not worth the effort or the filth involved.
Her attention was clearly reserved for desperate drunks who will flirt with anything that vaguely resembles a woman. Instead of doing her job, she chased attention despite rough, masculine features that did not justify the ego. This kind of behavior drives away customers and costs the owner money. If this is the standard here, it explains the experience entirely.
Editing to respond to the owner.
The bar was nearly empty, yet the bartender ignored a paying customer to socialize and kept my change without asking. The comment about her appearance reflected why her attention was elsewhere, ego fed by inebriated approval, not service.
Instead of addressing these facts, your reply resorted to insults. Somehow, the very response meant to defend the business ended up illustrating its flaws more clearly than any criticism could.
Congratulations!
Edit per your response: It was NOT very busy there was an entire half of the bar opened up. Get more bartenders if she’s going to be grumpy with the holiday crowd! Not a good look. Also on a holiday week you should be PREPARED. Everyone is stressed from the holidays so why should someone that is paid to be there be in such a bad mood to customers?
She gave the place some personality!
She has the best conversations!!
She made the day with her bartending skills!!!
You know you’ll have a blast when she is working!!!
Definitely my favorite!!!!!!!!
