I ordered the exact same meal, the chicken casado bowl, which had been beautifully plated and tasted great the first time. This visit the ingredients were thrown together, the plantain were burnt, and there was a huge amount of red onion that covered the dish, whereas the original meal had an accent with the tomatoes. The original also had fresh avocado, whereas this time there was a tiny teaspoon bit of mash. It’s almost like someone intentionally sabotaged the dish. It wasn’t good and I don’t believe we’ll risk going back to this restaurant.
ORIGINAL POST: About a year ago we were at another location and didn’t have a great experience, but we tried this one and were pleasantly surprised. The menu has been updated. I tried the Casado bowl with grilled chicken and it was delicious. It had a Latin twist with perfectly prepared plantain, black beans, turmeric rice and avocado. The service was great. We recommend.
It was packed, and I would recommend a reservation.
Pretzels were hot and fresh.
The beet salad was amazing. Cheddar ale soup was great on a snowy evening. The added bacon was a bit over the top on saltiness, though.
The 101 Burger was a wonderful med rare, and the gnocchi was fabulous.
I would not recommend the potato pancake algamation. It just didn’t work. Salt and Vingar chips with the fresh dip was a nice touch.
A very fulfilling dinner!
Honestly, they might be guilty of this. But, the food is still really good. I ordered their pigs in a blanket app and the Irish skillet from their brunch menu.
The pigs in a blanket were a hit. They had a ton of flavor and had a slight and subtle heat to them. The sauce they put on them is fantastic. Can’t go wrong with this appetizer.
The Irish skillet was not what I was expecting. I don’t know why, but I was expecting something similar to a shepherd’s pie. Not the case.
This dish was interesting. When I first looked at it I was slightly disappointed, as it was not what I was expecting. But I was won over by the flavor. The greens were fresh and everything was cooked perfectly. Again, the sauce was amazing.
Also, I tried a fried plantain my brother-in-law ordered. They were fantastic.
All in all, this has been a great experience every time I’ve visited. And I plan on visiting again.
The wings, in general were cooked well and tasted right.
I did like the dipping sauce/spread that came with the pretzels.
They had a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, I did not try any.
I do recommend giving them a try, the service was excellent and they offer a unique variety of flavors.
