Reviews
As usual, the group checked the reviews and found many mixed reviews, but we went ahead.
Ordered plain daal and rice for a baby , but have not seen that kind of daal in any restaurant. I’m not sure what that was. We were all confused, and it had Masala in it, but we specifically told it’s for kids, and we don’t want anything in it.
Naan was better, chicken sheekh kebab was good at least not bad.
At the end we ordered Masala lemon soda. We don’t know what we got, and we could not fix it either.. added salt and stuff but could not do justice to it.
If you have other options, then keep this place at the last.
The restaurant itself is very clean, has lots of seating, nice decor, and pleasant music that’s at a good volume to hear without interfering with conversation.
We ordered the Chicken Biryani bone-in, Paneer Vindaloo, and Garlic Naan.
Didn’t take long to be served.
First thing we noticed was just how large the portion of Biryani is for the price. Can easily feed 2 people.
The Chicken Biryani was amazing. Very tender and flavourful, it had a perfect ratio of sauce to rice, rice was perfectly cooked, and it was very well presented.
Easily the best biryani I’ve had in Kingston.
The Paneer Vindaloo was a very decent portion as well, large cubes of paneer in a sauce that was well spiced and thick. We got Basmati Rice to go with it, which was perfectly cooked.
The Garlic Naan was also amazing. Lots of butter, and garlic. Toasted in a way that still bends well, but has some great texture.
The Raita was a new experience for me. Was a really nice addition to the Biryani.
Will definitely go again.
Worth every penny, and very delicious.
Have been eating here for the past few years and their taste hasn’t changed one bit! Every item on the menu is delicious.
Ordered Chicken Biryani and Paneer Biryani this time and we loved it! Chef Rajat worked his magic once again 🙂
After a quick google review I saw that it had an “ok” rating so I decided to try it out and they had dine in!
Ok so the location Isn’t glamours , it’s in an old failed truck stop building and it’s the only business operating in their and it’s down a road that’s mostly filled with transports coming off and on the 401 and refuelling, however as a foodie I pride myself of finding those little diamonds in the rough food spots , that only locals know about , the little hole in the wall type places that have amazing food! Well I found one!!
So as you enter the place it’s a cute little space , nothing fancy, and my guess is they do a large portion of their business via takeout and Uber eats, however the tables we big, the chairs were comfy and it was nice to just sit and relax and enjoy AMAZING curries.
Now the front of house girl was sick , so it was literally the chef/part owner taking orders , cooking , handling the phones , etc etc and some ppl may have been annoyed there was a bit of wait but we didn’t mind the guy was doing his best and the food was well worth it, which is why I go places for the food! There’s plenty of places in Kingston yo eat with a beautiful view and the food is cutout of a plastic bag and microwaved by some 18 year old kid.
We tried three Curry dishes , the Madras , vindaloo, butter chicken. A beef chicken and lamb we got 2 nans , 1 roti, and 2 rice dishes.
Honestly the food was phenomenal, the curries were flavour packed and different tasting , there was a nice mix of spicy and non, and the fresh made nan bread was a standout all star. It was fluffy and soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside tons of Flavour, also the curries were heavy on the meat and the rice dishes were both amazing , the biryani was spicy which I enjoyed!
Some places you order from the dish is like 90% sauce with a few floating pieces of chicken or beef this was all meat and lots of sauce, good value for the price.
So if you’re looking for a fancy meal with your wife and atmosphere is important this may not be the place , I’m not going to rate them poorly for that , because it’s subjective.
But if you’re looking for a hidden gem off the beaten path for amazing food , and great authentic service , give this place a try !!
Reference to your reply dated 7/4/22 what is Rananjay.I never ordered anything like that. And with regards to portion I mentioned your waitress never asked what size we prefer . Anyways appreciate your reply .
The whole experience from start to finish is great, staff is so friendly, kind and helpful. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. And biriyani was so tasty with awesome portion that makes you and your heart full. ❤️
Always a great spot to get great food.
The girl (Karan) who served us was friendly and overall we loved the whole experience .
Had a quick chat with the owner of the place as well and promised to come back.
