Great food and hospitality by Gursimran and Rajat. Thoroughly enjoyed the Bhuna Paneer and fluffy rotis. The kebab was not as spicy as indicated in the menu, however the team was quick to rectify it and make it the way we liked. And how can I forget the buttery Amritsari Kulcha and chole…. heavenly! A must try!

We were in Kingston and were looking for an Indian restaurant to dine in for dinner.

As usual, the group checked the reviews and found many mixed reviews, but we went ahead.

Ordered plain daal and rice for a baby , but have not seen that kind of daal in any restaurant. I’m not sure what that was. We were all confused, and it had Masala in it, but we specifically told it’s for kids, and we don’t want anything in it.

Naan was better, chicken sheekh kebab was good at least not bad.

At the end we ordered Masala lemon soda. We don’t know what we got, and we could not fix it either.. added salt and stuff but could not do justice to it.

If you have other options, then keep this place at the last.

Was craving Biryani this evening and we went to 1000 Curry
The restaurant itself is very clean, has lots of seating, nice decor, and pleasant music that’s at a good volume to hear without interfering with conversation.

We ordered the Chicken Biryani bone-in, Paneer Vindaloo, and Garlic Naan.

Didn’t take long to be served.

First thing we noticed was just how large the portion of Biryani is for the price. Can easily feed 2 people.

The Chicken Biryani was amazing. Very tender and flavourful, it had a perfect ratio of sauce to rice, rice was perfectly cooked, and it was very well presented.
Easily the best biryani I’ve had in Kingston.

The Paneer Vindaloo was a very decent portion as well, large cubes of paneer in a sauce that was well spiced and thick. We got Basmati Rice to go with it, which was perfectly cooked.

The Garlic Naan was also amazing. Lots of butter, and garlic. Toasted in a way that still bends well, but has some great texture.

The Raita was a new experience for me. Was a really nice addition to the Biryani.

Will definitely go again.
Worth every penny, and very delicious.

Amazing food, great service and customizable menu! Hard to find a restaurant like this in Canada!
Have been eating here for the past few years and their taste hasn’t changed one bit! Every item on the menu is delicious.

Ordered Chicken Biryani and Paneer Biryani this time and we loved it! Chef Rajat worked his magic once again 🙂

We were finally able to dine in at our favourite Indian restaurant! We’re in the green Covid zone now and taking advantage of it. We’ve been coming to 1000 Curry ever since they opened a couple of years ago. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve ordered on the menu. And a few times I’ve asked whether I could get something that’s not on the menu, and they always come through. Tonight we had delicious Madras chicken and aloo gobi. On other occasions I’ve had their amazing ras malai, rice pudding (incredibly delicious!!) and their homemade kulfi. I wish I had some right now. And this would be incomplete without singing the praises of the very talented chef, as well as the kind and attentive waitstaff Mandeep.

I was looking for somewhere to have some Indian food without having to drive all the way downtown from the west end of Kingston. I’ve gotten gas at Esso a few times and have seen the sign for 1000 Curries, and just always assumed it was a take out only type of place because it’s in a bit of an industrial area.

After a quick google review I saw that it had an “ok” rating so I decided to try it out and they had dine in!

Ok so the location Isn’t glamours , it’s in an old failed truck stop building and it’s the only business operating in their and it’s down a road that’s mostly filled with transports coming off and on the 401 and refuelling, however as a foodie I pride myself of finding those little diamonds in the rough food spots , that only locals know about , the little hole in the wall type places that have amazing food! Well I found one!!

So as you enter the place it’s a cute little space , nothing fancy, and my guess is they do a large portion of their business via takeout and Uber eats, however the tables we big, the chairs were comfy and it was nice to just sit and relax and enjoy AMAZING curries.

Now the front of house girl was sick , so it was literally the chef/part owner taking orders , cooking , handling the phones , etc etc and some ppl may have been annoyed there was a bit of wait but we didn’t mind the guy was doing his best and the food was well worth it, which is why I go places for the food! There’s plenty of places in Kingston yo eat with a beautiful view and the food is cutout of a plastic bag and microwaved by some 18 year old kid.

We tried three Curry dishes , the Madras , vindaloo, butter chicken. A beef chicken and lamb we got 2 nans , 1 roti, and 2 rice dishes.

Honestly the food was phenomenal, the curries were flavour packed and different tasting , there was a nice mix of spicy and non, and the fresh made nan bread was a standout all star. It was fluffy and soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside tons of Flavour, also the curries were heavy on the meat and the rice dishes were both amazing , the biryani was spicy which I enjoyed!

Some places you order from the dish is like 90% sauce with a few floating pieces of chicken or beef this was all meat and lots of sauce, good value for the price.

So if you’re looking for a fancy meal with your wife and atmosphere is important this may not be the place , I’m not going to rate them poorly for that , because it’s subjective.

But if you’re looking for a hidden gem off the beaten path for amazing food , and great authentic service , give this place a try !!

Too expensive for the quantity provided.Food is good but service is terrible. When order is placed you are never asked about the size of the item ordered, but when your bill comes it’s large .The hand sanitizer provided at the entrance smelled Dettol. No washroom inside the restaurant.I will never go back to that place.

Reference to your reply dated 7/4/22 what is Rananjay.I never ordered anything like that. And with regards to portion I mentioned your waitress never asked what size we prefer . Anyways appreciate your reply .

The whole experience from start to finish is great, staff is so friendly, kind and helpful. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. And biriyani was so tasty with awesome portion that makes you and your heart full. ❤️

Coming from Toronto, with so many options for Indian food , this place has now become my go to place ,while travelling East. The place is right next to 401 , so you don’t even have to take a detour. They have recently introduced some new items ,which are yet to be printed on the menu. Me and my wife tried the Amritsari Kulcha and trust me , it will take you back home. The chef (Rajat) who recommended it ,is himself from Amritsar.
The girl (Karan) who served us was friendly and overall we loved the whole experience .
Had a quick chat with the owner of the place as well and promised to come back.
