I have been dying for a buffalo chicken wrap and just had my night utterly ruined by trying to make that dream a reality through 1/2 Ton’s tonight. The first wrap, at $17 NOT including fries (and extra $3), didn’t even have buffalo sauce. It was chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and onion on a wrap – that’s it. You’ll see in the photo what a depressing sight the $20 meal was. So we called and got a larger, greasier, maybe ever so slightly closer to buffalo chicken wrap than before. Awful. So bad I won’t eat it, which is saying something. I’m not sure what they’re using for buffalo sauce, but it didn’t have any flavor and made everything so greasy and slimy that I couldn’t even hold the wrap without it wriggling away.
I gave it 2 stars because my husband says the wings are great.

Hadn’t been in a while. Stopped in for a quick bite and a couple beers. Had a huge and great tasting plate of Nacho’s, half beef half chicken. Great conversation with the bartender about music.
Next visit. Stopped again for a quick drink, stayed for 3. Ended up having a good conversation with the bartender and another patron. Nice relaxing spot.

Granted, I didn’t order anything complicated. Just homemade chips and salsa, wings and mozzarella sticks. Our food came out after 2 tables who ordered after us got theirs. Our chips weren’t cooked all the way, still chewy. Barely any “salsa,” which was diced tomatoes and garlic and a little seasoning in a 2oz ramekin. Not enough, had the chips been crispy and edible. The wings and sauce were good, and cheese sticks fine.
One waitress on a Friday night and she was running. Not her fault, the owners.
Atmosphere was fine, but super chilly. Maybe try some normal food and bring a jacket!

I love me a good Turkey Club & Hot Turkey Sandwich, and these guys can deliver on both! I’ve no photo of the Hot Turkey Sandwich, but trust me when I say it’s as good as the Turkey Club! The turkey used in both isn’t rubbery, cheap deli meat. It’s actual, legit, tasty turkey, and that’s unfortunately rare to find, but a welcome option! In addition, their fries are crispy & tasty, the gravy with the hot turkey is tasty, as well. (Other foods I’ve seen ordered by family, but never tasted myself that looked great is their Taco Salad Bowl special, and Buffalo Chicken Wrap.) Definitely give em a try, even if only for take out!

Overall, it was alright. I find it odd to walk into a restaurant with no staff in sight. She was friendly but we almost walked out. We just did appetizers because it was the mood we were in. While the flavor was good, the boneless wings weren’t hot. They were cooked, just had cooled significantly. I did really enjoy the fried pickle fries though. The breading stayed like a fried pickle chip but they were still soft like a fried pickle spear.

Our first, but definitely not last, time at 1/2 Ton’s Bar & Grill. My wife had a turkey club that she said was DELICIOUS! It was made with real sliced turkey, not deli meat. Lots and lots of bacon on it, too! I had the chicken bacon ranch on rye, and it was also superb! A crispy coated real juicy chicken breast. Very good! Overall it was a pleasant first time there. We’ll be back.

Food: 5 stars – The wings were outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Easily some of the best I’ve had in the area.
Service: 3 stars – The staff themselves were super friendly and clearly hardworking. I genuinely feel bad for them because management left them hanging. It was graduation weekend in a college town, and the place was severely understaffed. The crew that was there did their best under pressure, but they were clearly overwhelmed—and that’s on management, not them.
Atmosphere: 1 star – This was a huge letdown. It’s supposed to be a sports bar, but they don’t have cable or streaming services? No live Knicks playoff game, no Yankees vs. Mets—just YouTube reruns on the TVs in a New York sports bar? That’s almost unthinkable and really takes away from the experience.
Overall, the food is great, the staff are awesome, but the place needs serious attention from management—both in planning for big weekends and in actually offering what a sports bar should.
