The restaurant offers free parking for customers. I was seated in a corner area, which was quite annoying due to the constant presence of mosquitoes and flies.
While the fried tempura was freshly made, it was too oily and had a thick skin. The fried mushroom with onions contained more onions than mushrooms.
Overall, the taste was just okay.

Hope this honest review will help you out. The food needs major major improvements. For that kind of price, at least have the decency to provide good quality food. Try to perform some food survey at other Japanese restaurants to understand what / how Japanese cuisine should taste like.
The only nice thing was green tea.

Visited there during dinner hours, well deco there giving you Japanese’s feeling. The Unagi rice are tasty, and have a charcoal grills. Besides, there also serving the real washabi which is different with others Japanese restaurant for the artificial washabi.

A japanese restaurant decorated well to give off back to 80’s, nostalgic vibe in a house setting- Man Man Tan Izakaya serves Japanese food with a comfortable environment.
Do come early if you would like to try more items as they sell out early. Though the unagi don was grilled nicely with a good char, the rice itself was not flavourful enough to complement the unagi.
The tamago mentai don came rather quickly from when we ordered and when the tamago mentai don arrived, it was room temperature- it did not come hot. The rice itself also was not flavourful and a little dry.
Price here is slightly steep for Taiping standard.

First time trying out this Japanese restaurant. From the entrance to the main dining area are pretty Japanese feel with the decors. Food wise, theうなぎ (grilled eel) is ok, the ラーメン (ramen) wasn’t that great and only one soup type, no selection of other soup choice. The 海老の天ぷら (prawn tempura) wasn’t as expected too and the dipping wasn’t right. The barley tea is good though. The atmosphere in nice, quiet and cooling.

They more focus on Japanese Don Rice and Pokebowl, and a must try for this two. Sushi roll good too but only available on Sunday.

My actual rating is -2 stars because the food ALWAYS SELLS OUT, ESPECIALLY THE MAKI. We usually go there at 7 earliest and I am beyond disappointed to see that my favourite food is not in stock every time we visit there, and it never will be in stock for a second. My disappointment undermines the overall food quality and the overall experience of this restaurant. Here’s my actual rating:
