If you’re a fan of NE Chinese, ChiliSpot or Fiery Sky Asian, you’re gonna absolutely love Pacific Eatery & Catering! Specializing in Dong Bei which is Northeastern Chinese and Classic Hunan food.

Main Dishes – Farmhouse Delicious Bowl, Black Pepper Beef Cubes with Fresh Mushrooms, Liurouduan – (my fav!)

Appetizers – Smacked Cucumber, Fired Crispy Pork

This place is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Columbus, Ohio, especially if you are looking for Dongbei Cuisine or Hunan Cuisine. After their brand new renovation, the vibe of the restaurant has improved drastically. Their food is top notch with rich flavors and well-done presentation! What’s better, I have been here so much that the host has recognized me and my family when we dine here; this has a great local restaurant atmosphere that brings this restaurant to the next level. I do feel that sometimes service could be better, but there is always room for improvement! I hope you can try this restaurant out some time!

This place has become an authentic Chinese restaurant, specializing in spicy and northeastern Chinese cuisine. Everything tastes authentic and flavorful. Highly recommend their spicy liver slices, pork feet, stinky tofu, rib hotpot, and beef soup.
The liver tastes fresh and perfectly matched with spicy sauce and rice. Their spicy level is much higher than normal levels. They like to put a lot of salt in the dishes. I may tell them to add less salt next time. WiFi is fast.

We came at 6pm for dinner and got a table right away. Food was delicious. We particularly liked the eggplant dish and the frog legs.

I read the reviews after ordering, seems like they’re more well known for their regional dishes. Definitely will not be ordering any American-Chinese dishes as it seems to be lacking. The eggplant was flavorful and huge portions. Honey walnut shrimp was where it fell short. No walnut, skimpy sauce and over cooked cheap frozen shrimp. Crab Rangoon was so-so, no sauce and tasted a little old. Each dish was $19-20.

There’s multiple reviews from others stating to get the dongbei/hunan dishes and to not get the Chinese American dishes. I think they should remove that portion of the menu if it is not their focus. It could have saved me the $50 since i wasn’t looking for regional specific food.

Beyond the fine look and good taste, the food is either not fresh or too spicy, 4 out of 5 of us had diarrhea the next day. There was no service. We even had to ask for water. It is not provided by the server.

Don’t come here for general tso and fried egg roll.
Come here for northern Chinese food!
The 4 dishes we had were very good, I didn’t come home thirsty!
Kidney and bean sprout on hot rocks was interesting, the rock definitely kept the dish hot! The flavors are nice with a touch of Szechuan peppercorn and tender kidneys.
Braised elbow is their signature dish, very nice marinate and soft elbows.
Fried pork in sweet and sour sauce, highlight of the night! Perfectly crisped and the sauce was so good, so far the best in town!
Fried eggplant in bean sauce, lightly fried and tossed in a black bean sauce.

I ordered pig trotter soup, but what I received was mostly bones with very little meat. This was very disappointing and not what I expected.
