I visited “湘见串串” in Alhambra, which I initially thought was a hotpot place but turned out to be a delightful barbecue spot. The restaurant exudes a warm and smoky vibe with its red and gold signage. The service was welcoming, and the food was exceptional. We enjoyed the grilled squids and prawns, which were juicy and perfectly seasoned with a special sauce. The spicy crab was a standout with its crispy shell and succulent meat, infused with authentic Hunan flavors. The Mapo Tofu was deliciously spicy and comforting, while the Farmhouse Bowl, topped with eggs, offered a rich medley of flavors. The臭豆腐 was crispy and aromatic, and the stir-fried vegetables provided a refreshing balance. The meal ended on a sweet note with the soft and sweet red sugar glutinous rice cakes. Outside the restaurant, the nearby “花甜里” dessert shop adds to the charm with its popular Labubu events. The first time we came to this restaurant was because we saw Zhangcha Duck (Tea-Smoked Duck) on their menu! And it definitely didn’t disappoint. We’ve tried Zhangcha Duck from many places nearby, but today’s was really impressive—I highly recommend everyone give it a try. Their duck is served hot, with crispy skin and tender, fall-apart meat that even our family members with weaker teeth enjoyed. The spicy fish was also delicious, with a rich and flavorful taste .

The owner was very kind. After the chef finished get off work, the owner warmly invited me to have a staff meal with them. The food was authentic Hunan cuisine; the pounded chili, eggplant, and preserved egg were very appetizing. We even packed some leftovers to eat the next day.
