This is a relatively new restaurant that has two sections. There is the main restaurant section and a more “fast food” section on the other side. Both sections share the restroom that is in the corridor that connects the two sections.
My review is mostly regarding the main restaurant section.
The Chinese name of the restaurant means a combination of Hunan and Cantonese cuisine. I have a feeling the Cantonese part is mainly the leftover of the previous restaurants on the same premise before the current ownership/name change.
The Hunan cuisine here is pretty good to be in the top enchelon. Food is spicy and flavorful correctly. I wouldn’t say it’s the best there is but it’s way better than your average Hunan food. My only complaint would be the portion could be bigger. I think they did a good job with stir fried pork with peppers even when you choose the non spicy version. As I said the dishes are very flavorful. The frogs are very tender but portion is tiny for the price you pay. I love the crunchy pork stomach. It’s different from other hunan restaurants I’ve had but wouldn’t say it’s worse.
What came as delightful surprise is the actual roasted duck. This totally falls into the Cantonese part of the food menu but it’s very very well done. The duck skin is crispy properly almost as good as an authentic peking duck skin. The meat is tender juicy and very flavorful. I’d say it’s the best Cantonese roast duck I’ve had in the whole Bay Area. It’s pricy for the original price but for the sale price it’s a must have.

The service is decent and attentive and the place itself is smaller than what the outside would suggest. The decorations can be cheesy but I don’t really care and the tables are arranged in a functional way that works well enough. They wanted but give a higher class feel but somewhat fails due to open dining area arrangements of the tables.

Overall I think it’s a solid 4.5 but due to lack of choices in the Bay Area, I’ve decided to give it 5 stars instead of 4.

Our first time here .

We ordered the duck ( half price for their special promotion ) was pretty good ! The duck skin is crispy , a little bit satay but flavorful.
Cauliflower also very testy , mixed some of dried radishes.

Overall , we probably will come back for the duck again !

Visited on January 8, 2026, between about 6:50 PM and 7:35 PM.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely disappointing.

I ordered the lotus root pork bone soup after seeing photos on social media showing it contained actual meat. However, when the dish arrived, it was just a single bare bone with no meat at all — only lotus root. I politely asked the staff about it. One server kindly offered to remake it and asked us to wait about 20 minutes. We waited over 25–30 minutes, but nothing came, and no one checked back with us.

When we followed up with another staff member (a middle-aged woman at the front), her attitude was shockingly rude. Instead of listening, she immediately denied everything and insisted the soup “has always been like this.” She repeatedly said, “No matter if you come next time, the time after that, or even later — it’s always like this,” while talking over us the entire time and not allowing us to explain. She became visibly agitated, kept talking non-stop, and her behavior made the situation extremely uncomfortable.

Earlier, she had also strongly recommended a frog dish as a “special of the day.” After we looked at it and decided not to order it, she later questioned us about why we didn’t choose it, which felt unnecessary and awkward. Customers shouldn’t feel pressured or interrogated over their food choices.

This was not just about the soup — it was the dismissive and aggressive service that ruined the experience. We were simply asking about a dish that did not match expectations, and basic communication and respect should not be this difficult.

Would not return.

Great service, every server that passed by our table asked for our feedback and talked about their food preparation techniques. All the dishes we tried are delicious, except the rice is a bit too hard and dry for me. Tidy, quiet, and clean.

I came here under the impression of receiving top notch dim sum and Cantonese food. Turns out they changed the restaurant. Instead I was greeted with a restaurant that was as cold as the north pole but served food as hot as a Ghost pepper. We ordered a ton of food. First came the cucumber salad. More like a cucumless salad. The whole core of the cucumber, which by the way is the best part, was missing. This salad was spicy enough to make overreacte. The cucumber salad had pretty good flavor though. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was ordered off the Cantonese section of the menu, but it didn’t taste as authentic as the old restaurants’. The Beef Stir-Fried Rice Noodles are also another Cantonese staple I ordered and found a bit disappointing. The noodles were missing some wok hei and were as bland as British cooking. We wish they offered some dessert to close off the meal. The atmosphere was pretty chill, literally. It was a bit colder than preferred, but I guess cold is needed for that level of spice in the food. Service was wonderful and the staff helped us out and were very kind. This restaurant was a long time favorite of the family and we were surprised to find a new restaurant. All in all, if you were looking for a decent dim sum to eat at like this used to be, don’t come here. This restaurant now serves mainland Chinese food that is very spicy. If you love spicy food, I recommend coming here. If you have a strong distaste for heavily spicy food, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

As someone from Chengdu who has lived in the U.S. for over 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavors at Jade Xiang Yue. The sour long bean stir-fried chicken giblets tasted just like home—clean, flavorful, and well-balanced. The stir-fried beef was tender and spicy, with great meat quality. Their roast duck was fresh and juicy, made on the spot, and definitely one of the better ones I’ve had in the Bay Area. The restaurant is clean and tidy, with a comfortable atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive. I heard they offer a lunch set for four at $58, and the portions are generous. I’ll definitely be back with friends

Beautiful new Hunan Chinese restaurant. This would be great for hosting banquets. As a professional Sichuanese spicy food connoisseur lol, this level of spice is not high at all unlike some other reviews have mentioned. The staff members are all SOOO kind. We came here on a Friday night and the restaurant was lively and busy with no wait at 8:30pm.
We highly recommend the cold chicken in spicy sauce (口水鸡),and white fish covered in two different kinds of crushed chili sauce (剁椒魚). Yum. The pepper stir fried pork and ribs veggies pot were good too. Flavors were light. I wanted to try the tofu in stew tofu pot which was unavailable at the time. Next time!

Jade Tea Garden recently rebranded into Jade Xiang Yue and they now serve more traditional hunan food with a mix of Cantonese dishes as well. We got the Gai Lan, Hunan Stir Fry Lamb, and Chow Fun. My favorite was the stir fry lamb super flavorful and full of chilis. The service here was great as well, overall a good experience.
