Yummm!! I’ve had some of the most amazing Ethiopian food here, and the customer service is fantastic! They’re so welcoming and make you feel like you’re at home as soon as you walk in. I’ve tried everything from the veggie combo, tibs, kitfo, and quanta firfir, and every Sunday they have those Paste so yummy. Please try it if you ever visit on Sundays. They’re all amazing and delicious. The owners are very humble, polite even when they’re busy! Thanks for providing fresh and delicious food all the time. I’ll definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Never Again.

I called to place an order for Agelgil today and asked if it could be ready in 2 hours. I was told they were busy and that it would take 2.5 hours, but that I could call at 12:30 PM to check if it might be ready earlier. I was guaranteed the order would be ready by 1:00 PM. I also told them that if it could not be ready by 1:00, they needed to let me know so I could make other plans, and I was assured that would not be necessary.

When I called at 12:38 PM to check, I was told the order would not be ready at 1:00—or even 1:30—and I was asked questions that had already been confirmed when the order was placed (The type of Enjera I want, if the order was fasting or non fasting). Instead of taking responsibility why the order wasn’t going to be ready, they blamed me for placing the order “today,” said they were busy, and treated the promised time frame as meaningless.

When I reminded them of our earlier conversation, the response was dismissive and rude, including being told I was “keeping them from doing their work.” and if I had guests I should have put the order the day before. I told her if she couldn’t do it by 1pm, then she should not have taken the order.

Blaming the customer instead of honoring a guaranteed time and communicating honestly is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not new behavior from this establishment. In the past, orders have been delayed with excuses such as the person responsible leaving to pick up their children, customers being told to return hours later, prices being changed after the fact, and responsibility shifted when incorrect orders were made.

I do not like writing negative reviews, especially about an abesha establishment, but this business relies on customers staying silent rather than correcting repeated mistakes. As a result, the service continues to decline.

I will not be giving this establishment any more of my money and will not be recommending them to others, despite having used them previously for baptisms, birthday catering, and multiple Agelgil orders.

Not a dine‑in place, but their takeout is next‑level. The vegetarian dishes are a total home run—delicious food and genuinely friendly folks.

We called ahead and ordered 4 dishes. Shop staff were polite and helpful. Food was great. Just what we were hoping for. It’s great to have an Ethiopian shop within a reasonable drive. Will definitely be re-visiting soon. I noticed that they have.a breakfast menu so that may also happen!

Dishonest Pricing – Check Your Receipt Carefully!

I had a very bad experience at this marketplace. They charged me for items I did not even buy, This seems like a deliberate trick to overcharge
Always ask for a receipt – don’t leave without it.
Check the receipt carefully before you leave the store.
Speak up immediately if anything looks wrong.
This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. Be alert and don’t let them take advantage of you.

I drove 50 minutes to try their kuanta firfir (ቋንጣ ፍርፍር) and kitfo (ክትፎ), and it was totally worth it! The kuanta firfir was amazing, and although I haven’t tried the kitfo myself, my friends said it was just as good. I forgot to post a review, but I went there three days ago. There are plenty of restaurants in my area, but not many offer authentic Ethiopian dishes like this place. It’s more of a store than a restaurant, with pick-up service, and I think they do catering for larger events, though I’m not sure. Honestly, they should consider turning it into a full restaurant. If you’re craving real Ethiopian food, this is the spot!

I have been to the three other Ethiopian restaurants in Prince William County the atmosphere varies greatly, especially if they store front and restaurant. We were looking for vegan dishes and this place did a great job. My wife and I had the veggie platter (asked for no dairy) and it was delicious! The price and portions were amazing. We will definitely be coming back!
