I called to place an order for Agelgil today and asked if it could be ready in 2 hours. I was told they were busy and that it would take 2.5 hours, but that I could call at 12:30 PM to check if it might be ready earlier. I was guaranteed the order would be ready by 1:00 PM. I also told them that if it could not be ready by 1:00, they needed to let me know so I could make other plans, and I was assured that would not be necessary.
When I called at 12:38 PM to check, I was told the order would not be ready at 1:00—or even 1:30—and I was asked questions that had already been confirmed when the order was placed (The type of Enjera I want, if the order was fasting or non fasting). Instead of taking responsibility why the order wasn’t going to be ready, they blamed me for placing the order “today,” said they were busy, and treated the promised time frame as meaningless.
When I reminded them of our earlier conversation, the response was dismissive and rude, including being told I was “keeping them from doing their work.” and if I had guests I should have put the order the day before. I told her if she couldn’t do it by 1pm, then she should not have taken the order.
Blaming the customer instead of honoring a guaranteed time and communicating honestly is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not new behavior from this establishment. In the past, orders have been delayed with excuses such as the person responsible leaving to pick up their children, customers being told to return hours later, prices being changed after the fact, and responsibility shifted when incorrect orders were made.
I do not like writing negative reviews, especially about an abesha establishment, but this business relies on customers staying silent rather than correcting repeated mistakes. As a result, the service continues to decline.
I will not be giving this establishment any more of my money and will not be recommending them to others, despite having used them previously for baptisms, birthday catering, and multiple Agelgil orders.
I had a very bad experience at this marketplace. They charged me for items I did not even buy, This seems like a deliberate trick to overcharge
Always ask for a receipt – don’t leave without it.
Check the receipt carefully before you leave the store.
Speak up immediately if anything looks wrong.
This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. Be alert and don’t let them take advantage of you.
