My husband and I were in Lake Charlevoix to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary for a few days. I saw this restaurant on Yelp that had good reviews. The menu looked like a good variety to select from. This restaurant exceeded our expectations. It had a warm, soft decor, spacious, exceptional, food, and exceptional service! We definitely plan on coming back the next time we are in town!

No complaints staff was very friendly, nice size shrimp, good food portions we had steak mashed red skins asparagus with steam shrimp, and pan seared walleye with wild rice and asparagus, get complimentary Cole slaw and bread (so good) with oil, balsamic vinegar butter dish, very good would recommend, we were celebrating our 30 th wedding anniversary nice atmosphere! They serve brick oven pizza but we didn’t try it

We had a fantastic dinner here. It’s a nice restaurant. Almost feels nicer than it is if that makes sense. Meaning it feels more dressy than it is. The bar is nice, good selection of drinks. Then there is the food. It’s really good! Everything everyone at the table had was well received. I got the famous shrimp. I will say I’m biased to steamed over fried. I would definitely go back. Left too full really but there are worse things! Get there early or be prepared to wait.

Outstanding! Friendly and prompt service, lovely outdoor patio. And the food … delicious! Incredible stuffed mushrooms were light and well seasoned, balancing crunch, herb and bacon. Generous Caesar salad was a crowd pleaser. The scallops were sweet, perfectly seared and incredibly fresh. The steaks were tender and seasoned well. The chef wasn’t satisfied with the cook on one of our steaks and – without us asking – delivered an additional steak to our table. As you might imagine, it was cooked perfectly. We can’t wait to return!

Made reservations well in advance for a party of 7 with my wife’s family on June 4th. I haven’t seen my family in several months and was pumped for a fine dinning experience along with some pleasant conversation. Well…. There was a female singer with a mic/amp right behind us in the main dinning room. She was a pretty girl and had a nice smile. Yet, she was SO loud I literally could not carry a conversation with my wife and Mother in law who were seated inches away. God bless the singer.. umm… She couldn’t sing. This added to the annoyance.. In addition, to our experience, it took at least 25 mins for our table to be greeted by a waitress. My nieces BF ordered a draft and it literally sat on the bar for 20 mins before my niece took it upon herself to fetch the drink from the bar. On the positive, the food was good, hence the two stars instead of one. From the time we entered the restaurant and left, we were there almost 3 hours and I felt worn out. When I’m throwing down $50 a person for a pleasant dinning experience and leave stress out, I won’t be back anytime soon.

This restaurant is off the beaten path from darling Charlevoix (not too far on the outskirts of town, though), and it has a loyal following of locals. Their isn’t much ambiance with such large rooms and family-style chairs/tables. The food is reliably good however. I ordered their Caesar (added grilled shrimp, a generous portion). Loved the dressing and the shaved parmesan. I always appreciate when the Romaine isn’t wet and the leaves are cut well into smaller pieces, as was the case here. Servers are excellent and have good team work among them.
