The burger was cooked perfectly. The bloody mary was nice, thick and tasty. Onion rings were fresh and crispy.

To start, the service was fantastic. The staff and our waitress took very good care of us. I got the burger with onion rings and the jalapeño firecrackers. All were great for what they were. I did feel it was a bit pricer than what I paid for, but the quality was certainly there. With tip it was $40+ for just me. Overall I was satisfied with everything though and would recommend it.

Dissatisfied with the food and service here today. When we first arrived, the host saw us and yet didn’t come to seat us or tell us how long a wait was for a table for ten minutes. And when we did get seated, the food did not come out for an hour!! I got a salad, but it was not fresh and tasted pre-made. Others got burgers and I would order that instead.

My husband remembers coming here as far back as the late 60’s! They’ve not erased the history but have definitely succeeded in making the best mix of rustic charm, friendly atmosphere and great food.

I had a turkey cucumber sandwich on rye, and he had a classic patty melt… both delicious! Recommend!

Always a good idea to stop here! The food is fresh and delicious. Staff is always great. Soup of the day, fresh clam chowder is the best along with the Smelt Basket. Parking lot with handicap available. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

This place is gooood! Of course I got the Spike Burger and yes I added another patty to stack up the meat. The entire thing from the bun to the meat was phenomenal and I could’ve ate two! We had 8 people in our party and we all got something different. Everyone was very happy with not only their meal but the service as well. Highly recommend stopping in whether you’re passing through or in town for awhile.

The Spikeburger was everything I was hoping for, juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Chicken strips were moist and tasty. The Onion rings were delicious and included a special sauce. I will be returning sometime soon.

Amazing Food! Stopped for lunch heading from the UP back home. We ordered turkey Reuben, hammy Sammy, and upgraded to the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had.

Quaint place, with maybe 10 tables and a little bar area. Place was clean. Ordered a Caesar chicken salad, kind of shocked at how small it was for the price. Chicken tasted great though. Hubby ordered a burger, he said it was good. He liked the waffle fries, I thought they tasted like they were fried in the same oil as fish.

Overall decent experience, just not overly impressed. Tried the soup of the day (Butternut squash- decent), onion rings (decent). We don’t particularly care for the burger pricing system, if want cheese, add $0.75, onions $0.50, olives $0.75, etc. next thing you know your $10 burger just turned into a $15 burger. The salad was served in the tiniest bowl where you couldn’t grab a forkful without the contents going all over. The barrel top table and barstools provided cramped and uncomfortable seating. It’s a great local hangout but feel they need some minor improvements.
