What a great little place! The food was awesome. Great deals at the bar. $10 snack deals. Had the junior sheppards pie and it was very good. Tried a few of my friends mussels and they too were very good. A meal and two Cigar City Maduros for $20. I’ll be back.

Based on the reviews, I Got the fish and chips..such a disappointment! The fish was dry with the edges like jerky. Fries were soft and tasteless. Definitely not worth it for the price..
Waitress never came to the table to check on us so I had to go to the bar to get help.
We won’t be returning.

I was excited to try the food here. Now my husband will never let me pick a new place again… our food was awful. My mother had the garlic mussels. She took one bite and said I don’t like that and shoved her plate away. The mussels were tough and grainy. My husband and I split the mussels and clams scampi over pasta special and crab clusters. The mussels and clams had the same tough and grainy texture, and the scampi was watery and unflavored. I asked our waitress when she returned if the mussels/clams were frozen… sure enough they were which is shocking for a seafood restaurant charging those prices!! The crab clusters were watery, which were obviously frozen, but given they are from Alaska makes sense, but they either weren’t frozen properly or prepped properly either way, not worth the money either. I should’ve known from the extensive menu that nothing was going to be fresh. Going forward I will be asking these questions at different restaurants. To the owner, maybe try downsizing the menu and using fresh ingredients. You would probably have more return customers.

We got fish and chips and a Philly cheesesteak. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and served very quickly along with my wife’s fish and chips. Food was so hot we had to just pick at it for awhile which didn’t hurt my feelings as we ate the coleslaw and enjoyed it. Service was excellent and are server didn’t forget about us and made herself available if we needed here.

We went there for my birthday. The staff was very friendly. Service was great and the food was really good. Calamari was really good and so was there chicken marsala. Place is a little small but it’s well kept. AND you get your birthday dinner for free up to $21.99 so you can’t beat that. We recommend this place.

It’s kinda getting ridiculous now. Every place in this town is fantastic!

Not quite England, but a bit of that British flair. The fish and chips were some of the best I’ve had in the States. Laura’s burger was perfection! But, their New England Clam Chowder was out of this world! Ask for Beth! We’ll be back!

When we first arrived, there were no seats at the bar available and all tables were occupied. There is no place to stand, sit or wait for a table for dinner. When my husband finally had a chance to order a drink from bartender while we stood against the wall waiting, she wouldn’t serve us. She said I have to take care of these people (indicating those at the bar). We thought that was rude; so now we’re backed up against a wall without a drink on top of it. When we finally got a table, we ordered the BBQ chicken. It came out not fully cooked (partly raw) and cold. I asked the waitress to please take it back and at least give me hot food. The entire experience was unpleasant other than the waitress being kind and trying to be accommodating. I would not recommend Portside based on this experience

Everyone’s food but mine was good. Mine was an over cooked NYS. EVEN seasoned it was flavorless. The mixed vegetables were soft with zero flavor. It was on a plate looking like hospital cafeteria food. I would have let that go without a review but then comes the pitch black back parking lot. A huge additional parking lot with NO lights. A friend stepped in a broken area of the lot and went down hard. His ankle looks like an elephant ankle today. He is mild mannered and won’t do or say anything about it. If that would have been me—- very different story. It’s the restaurant owners obligation (by law) to ensure at least relative safety in all its publicly access’s or areas. I’m sure they are aware and maybe waiting until the room is on fire to do anything about it
