Social Profile:

French Meadow Bakery & Cafe is in its 25th award-winning year at the MN State Fair, where fair goers indulge in freshly baked, innovative, and organic food, artisan refreshments and Peoples Organic Coffee drinks, in the tradition of our flagship Minneapolis restaurant, but with a special State Fair twist. A relied-upon first stop for famous fruit-stuffed hot scones, French Meadow is a mainstay all day for delicious, genuinely vegan & glutin-free offerings — prepared with integrity under strict guidelines — along with delicious fare for traditional diets. NOTE: In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, MN State Fair management chose to cancel the fair for safety concerns. Never fear, we’ll be back in August 2021 when the fair returns!

Cinnamon twist roll was amazingly good! A+++ Hot Americano with half n half was also super! ❤️

Great gluten-free options amidst a fairgrounds full of not gluten-friendly stands. The food was amazing (especially the “sconuts”)! The one downside I would have to mention is that they did accidentally make my gluten-free sandwich on regular wheat bread and I’m the one who caught the mistake. Cooking also took awhile, but it was worth the wait.

The regular coffee was good. Sadly, the decaf was terrible, the Ba-sant was super salty, and the peaches on the peach scone had a chemical taste.
Not Justified!

This is my first stop every year at the State Fair. The Black Currant Tea is the best! Next to the Scones! This year they offer a SconeNut which is a cross between a scone and a donut!

BUT Wait! There’s More! The best thing was the service that I received from Eden and CJ! These two youngsters knocked it out of the park. To see people wanting to work long hours and deliver with true smiles and authenticity made my first stop extra special! THANKS, kids, for what you do. “I’ll Be Back”. (Say it like Arnold) 😎

The cauliflower is why we come find you at the fair every year. The thick breading this year was all we could taste. Not good – we threw it away. Service was great and the quiet place to sit and eat was welcome as always.

I made a beeline because I saw they had GF options for sandwiches. I have an egg allergy and gluten intolerance, so I ordered the GF sconuts (delicious!) and a Heirloom Tomato Turkey & Bacon on GF bread, without the aioli. I received the sconuts right away but was handed two incorrect sandwiches before they (after asking several times which sandwich I got) finally gave me the turkey sandwich, on the butt ends of the GF loaf … and no bacon.

After 30 minutes of waiting.

I shouldn’t have had to point them to the menu to understand the sandwich I was ordering. At no point did I ask for the breakfast croissant on gf bread, but was handed two of them 🙁 could be first weekend jitters but it sucks to be the one in line watching everyone else get their correct order. Use caution if GF.
