Due to the ever changing staff shortages in the United States, we have been affected also. Customers will also be able to order online, through DoorDash and through Uber Eats. Last night 05/12/2023 I order the oxtail entree and the smothered pork chops entree my friend ordered the chicken and rice entree. The mac and cheese was not good it was not cheesy at all the greens were very salty with no other taste the flavoring to the pork chop was good but it was over cooked for 28.50 for an oxtail entree I got 3 oxtails I can buy a whole pack of oxtails for what I paid for my meal. This review is from the 3 different meals 3 different people.

The food wasn’t what I expected. To me it lacked a lot of flavor. By no means the food wasn’t nasty or bad it just didn’t live up to the soul food I grew up knowing and loving. I ordered a wing dinner with greens and Mac and cheese and the greens was bland the Mac and cheese was ok and the chicken wasn’t bad despite I asked if I could have sauce on my wings and they said yes but I got it on the side which I hate. They said it would be ready in 25 minutes I came within 20 and waited for almost 10 minutes before anyone said anything to me then took another 10 minutes and got my food. I don’t know if I would go back and try them out but I want to go to the one in Cleveland Heights at least because I heard it was better… My response to the owner….My review is most definitely not fake. I only wrote what I experienced. I only mentioned the Cleveland Heights location because that’s how I heard about this one. I never said anything negative about anyone. I literally said the food wasn’t bad just not what I expected. ♂️ Maybe I caught you guys on a bad day Idk but please don’t call me a liar because you didn’t like what I wrote. I would’ve liked a “hey sorry for your bad experience come back I’m sure it’ll be better” would’ve been a better response. Didn’t mean no disrespect just was telling my truthful experience. I found a fingernail in my mouth while eating the collard greens. Owner/ management was not helpful at all. He just kept repeating excuses of how the fingernail couldn’t have been in the greens. I didn’t want a refund. I just wanted him to know that someone isn’t handling the food properly.

I’m so disappointed, after 9months of coming to this place, ordering the same thing I was so sad and disappointed by the food we received today..usually the food is amazing, we have bragged about the food at this place..and today was going to shoe some new customers how good it was..until we got the worst chicken dinner we have ever gotten, burnt,oily and soggy sitting in old grease and everything.

Good food great service…. food was fresh chicken was on point. From the time we stepped into the door and we walked out very friendly and understanding.. Didn’t have the sauce I wanted to try.. The gentleman recommended another sauce, and was kind enough to let me try it first… it was very tasty and good…Chicken was made to order made just right, and still good the following evening. Cabbage was good, mac and cheese was just right, and fries were seasoned well..

I feel like the best soul food you will get, is when you cook it yourself. I got the wing dinner with macaroni and yams for my daughter. She like I hope they taste like yours. They don’t but they wasn’t terrible. The macaroni is good. I got smothered chicken with rice and cabbage for me. The cabbage and chicken is super salty, especially the cabbage. I’m going to have to double up on my BP medicine. The rice was good, cooked perfectly.

Me and my wife tried this spot for the first time and we ordered two wing dinners, one with Mac and cheese with fries and the other with cabbage and Mac and cheese. I will say the food was great, everything was fresh, seasoned and tasted amazing. We tried the location on Vine Street and I will say you have to try the food yourself so you can have your own opinion. I have had many restaurants and wings all over the city and I will say this…… our meals we 10/10.
